About Weather - Accurate Weather App

Coocent's free forecast app offers no in-app purchase that removes its ads; the ad-free route is a separate app, Accurate Weather App PRO, sold for $12.99 on Google Play. Everything else costs nothing: 14-day and 72-hour forecasts, air quality split into six pollutants, an earthquake map and a switch between four forecast providers, AccuWeather among them. The main limit is data control: Google Play lists no way to request deletion.

Weather - Accurate Weather App Review: Four Data Sources, No In-App Ad Removal

No in-app purchases: the $12.99 PRO app is the only ad-free route

Nothing inside the free app is for sale: Google Play shows a Contains ads label and no in-app purchases, so the 14-day outlook, 72-hour chart, radar and widgets cost only ad views. Under a 2020 review asking to pay for an ad-free version, since marked helpful by 157 people, Coocent replied that the app would stay free and that ads fund it. The exit is a different listing, Accurate Weather App PRO: a one-time $12.99 purchase with 10K+ downloads, no ads label and a Data safety section declaring no data shared with third parties. Its September 2026 changelog matches the free app's item for item. Ads that fire as the app opens remain the standing complaint, reported in English, Spanish, Portuguese and German reviews in 2025 and 2026. Coocent's app-ads.txt file authorizes 46 ad-selling domains. Check current prices in Google Play; they vary by region.

Four forecast providers behind one switch, and none is the National Weather Service

The data source setting decides which of four commercial providers fills the screens: AccuWeather, OpenWeather, Weatherbit or World Weather Online. When a forecast for your town looks off, you can check it against another provider without installing a second app. None of the four is a government forecaster, while Today Weather can pull from Weather.gov, run by the US National Weather Service, as well as the UK Met Office and ECMWF. The listing never says which provider issues the severe-weather alerts. A March 2026 Play review pointed out that AccuWeather conditions appear in the app's own wording, such as bright periods where other AccuWeather-based apps say some sun. If AccuWeather is your pick anyway, AccuWeather's own app adds MinuteCast, which times rain or snow over the next four hours.

Zhuhai, a Gmail inbox and a catalog-wide privacy policy

Google Play names the developer as Zhuhai Haole Technology Co., Ltd., with an office address in Zhuhai, China, a mobile phone number and a Gmail support inbox. Coocent's own site lists a different Zhuhai company, KuXun Technology, which is also the App Store seller. The website linked from the listing is a one-page showcase of four apps with no company details. The privacy policy, hosted on Google Sites, is written for Coocent's whole catalog: it covers AI music and voice cloning, lists IP address, advertising ID, MAC address and IMEI among the data it may collect, and allows transfers to China or Singapore. Data safety says device IDs are collected for advertising, approximate location is shared for analytics, and you can't request deletion. The permission list includes precise location and drawing over other apps.

Pros

  • Air quality breaks down into six pollutants, from PM2.5 to carbon monoxide
  • Four switchable forecast providers, including AccuWeather and World Weather Online
  • 14-day daily outlook and 72-hour hourly chart with nothing behind a paywall
  • Earthquake map and a radar view sit beside the forecast screens
  • The ad-free PRO edition is a one-time $12.99, not a subscription
  • Units switch between °C and °F, 12- and 24-hour time, mm and inches

Cons

  • Ads can't be removed inside the free app; PRO is a separate install
  • Google Play's Data safety section offers no way to request data deletion
  • Device IDs are collected for advertising; approximate location is shared for analytics
  • Reviews from 2019 to 2024 report smaller towns missing from city search

Verdict

We scored it 5.9. Four selectable forecast providers, a 14-day outlook and six-pollutant air quality carry the score; ads you can't switch off in the free app, a thin developer footprint and data you can't ask to delete pull it down. Take it if you want a free, provider-switching forecast and tolerate ads, or pay $12.99 once for the PRO edition. Skip it if you need US government forecasts, which Today Weather pulls from Weather.gov, or minute-level rain timing, where AccuWeather's MinuteCast fits better.

Frequently asked questions

1

Can you turn off ads in Weather - Accurate Weather App?

No. The free app has no in-app purchases, so no setting or upgrade removes its ads, and Coocent has said ads are what keep it free. The ad-free option is a separate Google Play app, Accurate Weather App PRO, sold for a one-time $12.99. Check the current price in Google Play; it varies by region.

2

Where does Weather - Accurate Weather App get its forecast data?

From whichever of four providers you pick in settings: AccuWeather, OpenWeather, Weatherbit or World Weather Online. Switching lets you cross-check a doubtful forecast without a second app. No government source such as the US National Weather Service is offered, and the listing doesn't say which provider supplies the severe-weather alerts.

3

Is Accurate Weather App PRO worth $12.99?

Yes, if ads are your main complaint and you plan to keep the app: $12.99 is charged once, and the PRO listing carries no ads label and declares no data shared with third parties. AccuWeather's ad-free Premium+ costs $29.99 a year in the US App Store. On iPhone, Coocent's same-named app sells Weather Premium at $9.99 a month, $19.99 a year or $44.99 once. Prices vary by region.

4

Can I delete my data from Weather - Accurate Weather App?

Not through a documented process. Google Play's Data safety section says the developer offers no way to request deletion, while the privacy policy sends rights requests to the Gmail address on the Google Play listing. Location sharing is marked optional, so denying location access and adding cities by name in Location Management limits what the app collects.

5

Who makes Weather - Accurate Weather App?

Coocent, an app brand based in Zhuhai, China. Google Play registers the developer as Zhuhai Haole Technology Co., Ltd., while Coocent's website and the App Store name KuXun Technology, also in Zhuhai, and support runs through a Gmail address. Its Google Play catalog runs from equalizers to a horoscope app and includes two more weather listings named Weather Forecast.
