How to Cancel LinkedIn Premium Before It Bills Again

LinkedIn Premium is cancelled where it was bought. Bought from LinkedIn itself, the route is Me → Premium features → Manage subscription → Purchases in the Admin Center → the active subscription → Cancel subscription → Confirm cancel. Bought through the App Store, LinkedIn's help page says to use your Apple device and the LinkedIn app, which hands off to Apple's subscription settings; bought through Google Play, it can be cancelled from the LinkedIn app, the website or the Play Store. Two rules from LinkedIn's page decide the timing: cancel "at least one day before your next scheduled billing date," and know that a paid plan runs to the end of the cycle while a free trial ends immediately. Premium Career is $29.99 or $39.99 a month, Business $69.99, as of September 2026.
Before you start
Know which kind of Premium you have and how it was bought. LinkedIn sells Premium Career at $29.99 or $39.99 a month depending on the plan and Premium Business at $69.99, both with free trials — which is how most subscriptions begin. The receipt says who billed you: LinkedIn, Apple or Google. LinkedIn's help page splits the instructions three ways on exactly that.
Know the two clocks. From LinkedIn's page: a cancelled paid subscription "will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle" with Premium features until it expires; a cancelled free trial "will end immediately, and Premium access will stop right away." So on a trial, cancel on the last day you want the features, not the first. And on either, cancel at least one day before the billing date, because a cancellation on the day may follow the charge.
Know why the plan is easy to lose track of. LinkedIn's Play listing carries a Contains ads badge — sponsored posts in the feed, promoted jobs in search — so the app looks free even when Premium is billing, and the store ratings split sharply, 4.8 on the App Store against 3.9 on Google Play; the Android complaints centre on the feed rather than billing, which is a reason to check the subscription rather than assume.
Know what goes. LinkedIn lists what the Basic plan drops: InMail credits, profile insights, LinkedIn Learning, the Premium badge, advanced search filters and competitive insights. Unused InMail credits are not carried over.
Step 1. Bought from LinkedIn — cancel in the Admin Center
LinkedIn's desktop steps, which also work in a mobile browser:
- Click the Me icon at the top of the LinkedIn homepage.
- Select Premium features from the dropdown.
- Click Manage subscription in the left pane under Plan Details. You are redirected to the LinkedIn Admin Center.
- Click Purchases in the left pane.
- Select the active subscription.
- Click Cancel subscription under Actions.
- Click Confirm cancel.
LinkedIn also notes that in the United States and Germany some subscriptions can be cancelled from a dedicated page without signing in, linked from the same help article — useful if the password is the obstacle.
Step 2. Bought through the App Store — finish with Apple
LinkedIn's page: "If your Premium subscription was purchased through the Apple App Store, use your Apple device to cancel in the LinkedIn mobile app." In the iPhone app, tap your profile photo → Premium features → Manage subscription; the app redirects to Apple's subscription management to complete it, because LinkedIn cannot cancel an Apple subscription itself. The direct route is the same screen: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → LinkedIn Premium → Cancel Subscription.
Step 3. Bought through Google Play — any of four places
LinkedIn states a Play Store subscription "can be cancelled using the LinkedIn desktop site, LinkedIn mobile app, Google Play desktop or the Google Play mobile app." In the app: profile photo → Premium features → Manage subscription. In the Play Store: profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → LinkedIn Premium → Cancel subscription.
Step 4. Confirm it took
The Premium features page shows the plan's end date after a successful cancellation, and LinkedIn emails a confirmation. If the plan still shows as renewing the next day, the cancellation did not complete — usually because it was attempted in the wrong place for the biller.
If it does not work
Manage subscription is missing. The subscription was bought through Apple or Google; the LinkedIn page will not carry the button. Go to the store's subscription list.
You missed the trial's end and were charged. LinkedIn's page points to its refund policy for exactly this; request it through billing support with the charge date.
The trial ended the moment you cancelled. That is how trials work on LinkedIn — access stops at once. If you wanted the remaining days, there is no way back short of a new trial, which LinkedIn does not offer on the same plan.
It is a Recruiter, Sales Navigator, Learning or Company Page subscription. Those are separate products with their own cancellation articles; the Premium route above does not apply.
Billing keeps going after cancellation. Compare the charge date to the billing date shown at cancellation. A charge before the cycle ended is the last one; a charge after it is a billing case for LinkedIn support, or the store if Apple or Google billed.
Bottom line
Me → Premium features → Manage subscription → Purchases → Cancel subscription → Confirm cancel if LinkedIn billed you; Apple's Subscriptions on iPhone or the Play Store on Android if a store did, with the LinkedIn app able to start the Google route but only hand off the Apple one. Cancel a day before the billing date, and remember that a paid plan runs out while a trial stops the instant you cancel it.
