How to Cancel Zoom Workplace Pro on the Web or in the App

Add ScoredApps as a preferred source on GoogleA host pressing a big red button marked with a white X on a blue conference table — How to Cancel Zoom Workplace Pro on the Web or in the App

Where you bought Zoom Workplace Pro decides where you cancel it. Bought inside the iPhone or Android app, it is an App Store or Google Play subscription, and Zoom's support page is blunt that "the Cancel Plan option won't appear in the Zoom web portal" — you cancel it in Apple's or Google's subscription list. Bought on zoom.com, it is cancelled in the web portal: profile picture → Plans and billing → Cancel Plan → confirm, and the Zoom mobile and desktop apps cannot do it. Either way the plan runs to the end of the paid term, no refund is generated, and cloud recordings survive 30 days after it ends. Pro is $16.99 a month or $159.99 a year through the app as of September 2026.

Before you start

Find the biller. Look at the last charge: a line from Apple or Google means the store bills you and Zoom cannot cancel it; a line from Zoom means the web portal can. Zoom Workplace sells Pro both ways, and the two routes do not cross.

Check you are allowed to. Zoom's page requires that you "be the account owner, admin, or have a custom role with billing privileges" and can sign in to the account that owns the subscription. If Pro was bought by an employer or a school, you cannot cancel it; Zoom says to contact that organisation's administrator.

Know what Pro is, and what ends with it. The free Basic plan hosts unlimited meetings for up to 100 people but cuts each group meeting at forty minutes; Pro lifts the cap to thirty hours and adds cloud recording. Cancelling returns you to the forty-minute limit at the end of the term — and Zoom's page states that "when your paid subscription ends, cloud recordings remain available for 30 days," then are permanently deleted. Download anything you want to keep before the term ends.

Know that cancelling is not a refund. Zoom: "Canceling your plan does not automatically generate a refund," and the plan stays active until the renewal date.

Step 1. If it was bought in the app — cancel with Apple or Google

iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Zoom Workplace → Cancel Subscription. Zoom's page confirms the app and website cannot process this cancellation; only Apple's settings can.

Android: Play Store → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Zoom Workplace → Cancel subscription. Zoom states that cancelling within the Zoom app or website will not stop Google Play billing.

Access continues to the end of the period already paid, and the store, not Zoom, handles any refund request for it.

Step 2. If it was bought on zoom.com — cancel in the web portal

Zoom's steps, in a browser rather than the app, because "you cannot cancel a standard paid Zoom subscription from the Zoom desktop app":

  • Sign in to the Zoom web portal as the account owner or an admin with billing privileges.
  • Click your profile picture or initials in the top-right corner, then Plans and billing.
  • On the Current Plans or Plan Management tab, find the plan and its renewal date.
  • Click Cancel Plan.
  • Confirm the cancellation.

Zoom sends a confirmation email, and the subscription shows a pending cancellation until the end of the term. If the account carries add-ons — cloud storage, large meetings — Zoom requires that "you must cancel the add-ons before you can cancel your base plan," each add-on separately, through the same Cancel Plan button beside it.

Step 3. Save the recordings and check the date

The confirmation email and the Plans and billing page both show the date the plan ends. Cloud recordings stay available for 30 days after that date and are then deleted with no recovery — download them from the Recordings page before the term ends if they matter. If you cancelled by mistake, Zoom lets you reactivate the existing plan any time before the term ends: Plans and billing → Reactivate → Proceed & Reactivate, with no new purchase required.

If it does not work

Cancel Plan is missing or greyed out. Zoom lists the causes: the subscription was bought through the App Store or Google Play (go to Step 1); it was bought through a direct sales quote, in which case cancellation may need your Account Executive; or the subscription is managed by another organisation. Zoom's page suggests the Virtual Agent chat with the word "cancel" for accounts without self-service.

You are not the owner. Only the owner, an admin, or a custom billing role can cancel. Ask the person who set the account up.

Add-ons block the cancellation. Cancel each add-on first, then the base plan. Zoom requires that order.

You have a Basic account and nothing to cancel. The free plan has no subscription. If the aim is to leave Zoom entirely, that is account deletion, a different setting.

The forty-minute limit came back before you expected. The term ended on the renewal date shown at cancellation. Reactivation before that date would have kept Pro running; after it, subscribing again starts a new term.

Bottom line

Bought in the app: cancel in Apple's or Google's subscription list, because Zoom cannot. Bought on zoom.com: profile picture → Plans and billing → Cancel Plan → confirm, in a browser, as the account owner, add-ons first. Pro runs to the end of the term either way, no refund is generated, the forty-minute limit returns after, and cloud recordings have 30 days to be downloaded before they are gone.

Frequently asked questions

1

How do I cancel Zoom Workplace Pro?

If you bought it on zoom.com: sign in to the web portal as the account owner, click your profile picture → Plans and billing → Cancel Plan → confirm. If you bought it inside the iPhone or Android app, cancel it in Apple's or Google's subscription settings — Zoom's page says Cancel Plan will not appear in the portal for those.

2

Why can't I find Cancel Plan in Zoom?

Zoom lists three reasons: the subscription was bought through the App Store or Google Play, it came from a direct sales quote, or it is managed by another organisation. You must also be the account owner or an admin with billing privileges, and cancel any add-ons before the base plan.

3

Do I get a refund when I cancel Zoom Pro?

Not automatically. Zoom's page states cancelling does not generate a refund; the plan stays active until the end of the paid term and simply does not renew. Refunds for store-bought subscriptions are requested from Apple or Google.

4

What happens to cloud recordings after cancelling Zoom Pro?

They remain available for 30 days after the paid subscription ends, then are permanently deleted with no recovery. Download them before the term ends, or reactivate a plan with cloud recording within the 30 days.
