How to Move WhatsApp From Android to iPhone With the Chats
There is exactly one official way to carry your WhatsApp history from Android to an iPhone, and it only works during the iPhone's first setup: Apple's
You can switch off most of the AI your phone added this year, and none of it needs a new app. On an iPhone, the summaries and Siri AI each have their own switch in Settings. On Android, you can send Gemini back to Google Assistant from inside the Gemini app. Gmail's smart features have one checkbox that covers Gmail, Chat and Meet, and Alexa keeps a full history of what you said that you can review and delete. Here are the exact steps, from each company's own help pages, as of October 2026.
Turning off an AI feature usually does one of three things: it stops the feature appearing, it stops your data being kept, or both. The steps below say which. They are copied from Apple's, Google's and Amazon's own help pages, and menu names can shift slightly between versions and devices, so if a label is not exactly where we say, use the search box at the top of your Settings app.
Apple Intelligence on iOS 27 has no single off switch; each feature is turned off where it lives. Open the Settings app, then:
Apple Intelligence on iOS 27 runs on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 or later, so older phones have nothing to switch off. Apple notes that Siri AI is not initially available in the EU on iOS.
On most Android phones Gemini has replaced Google Assistant as the default. You can switch back without deleting anything. Open the Gemini app, tap your profile picture or initial, tap Switch to Google Assistant, and tap Switch in the dialog that appears.
After that, "Hey Google" and holding the power button bring up Google Assistant instead. Google's help page adds one thing worth knowing: data already saved in your Gemini Apps Activity is not deleted automatically when you switch — you review and delete it separately at myactivity.google.com.
If you want to keep Gemini but stop it appearing uninvited, the Gemini app's Settings has two narrower switches: turn off "Hey Google" under Talk to Gemini hands-free, and turn off Use Gemini without unlocking under Gemini on lock screen. To stop the power button opening any assistant, open the phone's Settings, tap System, tap Gestures, then Press & hold power button, and choose another action — the exact path varies by phone maker.
Gmail's smart features — the ones that read your mail to suggest replies, sort tabs and pull out bookings — are controlled by one setting that applies to Gmail, Chat and Meet together. In Gmail on a computer, click Settings at the top right, then See all settings. On the General tab, scroll to Smart features and untick Turn on smart features in Gmail, Chat, and Meet.
Google says the change applies across every device where you are signed in, so the phone app follows. A second setting on the same tab, Google Workspace smart features, controls whether those products share data with other Google products; click Manage Workspace smart feature settings to switch each part off.
Alexa cannot be used without sending your voice to Amazon — every request is recorded and processed in Amazon's cloud. What you control is how long those recordings are kept and whether they stay at all. In the Alexa app, tap More, then Alexa Privacy. From there you can review and delete voice recordings, the text transcripts of them, and anything you typed to Alexa. The same page is available on the web at amazon.com/alexaprivacysettings.
Amazon's help page notes that deleting recordings may limit how much Alexa personalises its answers. That is the trade: the less it keeps, the less it remembers about you.
Switching off a feature does not delete what was already collected. Gemini Apps Activity stays until you delete it; Alexa recordings stay until you delete them. And turning off one company's AI does not touch another's: switching off Apple Intelligence leaves Gemini, ChatGPT or any other assistant app you have installed exactly as it was. Each app keeps its own history and its own off switch.
On an iPhone, turn off Apple Intelligence feature by feature in Settings — Siri AI, summaries and priority notifications each have their own switch. On Android, switch Gemini back to Google Assistant from inside the Gemini app, then delete old activity at myactivity.google.com. In Gmail, untick smart features once on a computer and every device follows. For Alexa, go to More, then Alexa Privacy, and delete what it has kept.
Apple's iOS 27 guide turns it off feature by feature rather than with one switch. Siri AI, message and email summaries, notification summaries and priority notifications each have their own setting in the Settings app.
Open the Gemini app, tap your profile picture or initial, tap Switch to Google Assistant, then tap Switch. Your existing Gemini activity is not deleted automatically; remove it at myactivity.google.com.
On a computer, open Gmail, click Settings, then See all settings. On the General tab, untick Turn on smart features in Gmail, Chat, and Meet. Google applies the change to every device where you are signed in.
Not while using it: every request is sent to Amazon's cloud. You can review and delete recordings, transcripts and typed requests in the Alexa app under More, then Alexa Privacy, or at amazon.com/alexaprivacysettings.

You cannot make spam stop arriving, but you can make it stop ringing. On an iPhone the two switches that matter are Silence Unknown Callers and Filter
Cancel the trial the day you start it. On an iPhone that is Settings, your name, Subscriptions, and Apple's own instruction is to cancel at least 24 h
