About ADP Mobile Solutions

ADP Mobile Solutions is the free employee app for companies that run payroll on ADP: pay and W-2 statements, time punches, time off and benefits, plus approvals for managers. Getting in takes a registration code or an identity check tied to your employer, which also decides which features appear. The catch: both app stores flag advertising, and sign-in loops lead the complaints in recent Google Play reviews.

ADP Mobile Solutions Review: Your Pay Stubs, Your Employer's Rules, Plus Ads

Registration codes, Employee IDs and what your employer switches on

The app opens only for workers whose employer uses an ADP product such as Workforce Now, Vantage, RUN or TotalSource. ADP's login help says only your employer can provide the registration code; some workers get one by email from ADP's security service instead. Without a code, setup asks for your country, your name exactly as company records show it, your birth date and an Employee or Associate ID, with a Social Security number or ITIN as the U.S. fallback. ADP checks those details against company records and may add identity questions drawn from public records. Some companies route sign-in through their own network password. Starting a fresh setup on a phone wipes the stored fingerprint login and saved user ID.

Quick Clock, pay statements and location data

Pay statements are the core: the current Google Play screenshots open a single statement with take-home pay, gross pay and the hours behind it. Google Play's Data safety form lists precise location as optional, for app functionality. Apple's listing adds that the app may use location even when it isn't open. Several reviewers describe Quick Clock reporting that they are offline or not at the job location. Others say pay statements vanished from the home screen after September 2026 updates.

What the Data safety form, Apple's label and the 2016 W-2 fraud show

Google Play's Data safety form declares no data shared with third parties, encryption in transit and a way to request deletion. Collected data includes financial info, photos and optional race, ethnicity and sexual orientation fields; approximate location and email address are also marked for advertising or marketing. Apple's privacy label lists purchase history and advertising data linked to your identity for third-party advertising. ADP's privacy statement for client employees says it processes your data only as your employer instructs or permits. Treat the registration code as a key: in May 2016, KrebsOnSecurity reported that fraudsters paired company codes posted online with personal data they already held to open portal accounts and download W-2s at more than a dozen ADP clients.

Third-party offers on a payroll app, and the sign-in complaints

Employees pay nothing and Google Play lists no in-app purchases, but Play shows a Contains ads badge and the App Store age rating lists Advertising. The store description names offers for ADP and third-party products as a feature, and ADP's replies to reviewers say a screen of nothing but ads may mean the employer hasn't set up other features yet. Reviews since July 2026 complain about offer banners loading before pay data. Sign-in draws more complaints: biometric login that won't stick, repeated verification codes and forced password resets. ADP's login help says to wait five minutes after a lockout, then ask payroll or HR, the only people who can reset the account. Spanish-language reviews run warmer: 107 of the 150 newest give five stars.

Pros

  • Costs employees nothing and has no in-app purchases on Google Play
  • Pay and W-2 statements, time-off balances and benefits in one app

  • Works with Workforce Now, RUN and TotalSource, plus an Apple Watch app
  • Cached employee data is encrypted, and idle sessions time out

Cons

  • Your employer decides which features appear; only HR or payroll can reset a locked account
  • Third-party offers share the screens, and both stores label the app as containing ads
  • 125 of the 199 newest English Play reviews give one or two stars
  • Reviews describe biometric login that won't stick and repeated verification codes

Verdict

We score ADP Mobile Solutions 6.6: it puts pay and W-2 statements, punches, time off and manager approvals in one free app, but your employer decides what works, third-party offers share the screen, and sign-in trouble leads recent complaints. Take it if your employer runs payroll on ADP and you check pay or punch in weekly. If you need a W-2 once a year, or the app keeps locking you out, use signin.adp.com in a browser instead.

Core function7.5Pay and W-2 statements, punches, time off, benefits and manager approvals, but each employer chooses which tools appear.
Ease of use6.0Registration codes, identity checks and repeated verification codes slow sign-in; only HR or payroll can unlock an account.
Monetisation6.5Free with no in-app purchases, yet both stores flag advertising and third-party offers share the payroll screens.
Performance5.5125 of the 199 newest English Play reviews give one or two stars; sign-in loops are the top complaint.
Privacy & permissions6.5Play declares no sharing, but optional race and sexual orientation fields and Apple's third-party advertising entry weigh against it.

Frequently asked questions

1

Where do I get a registration code for the ADP Mobile app?

From your employer: ADP's login help says only your employer can provide it, though some workers receive it by email from ADP's security service. With no code, tap No during setup and verify with your name, birth date and Employee ID, or a Social Security number in the U.S. The app itself is free.

2

Why can't I see my pay stubs in the ADP app?

Usually because your employer hasn't enabled pay statements for your account. ADP's replies to reviewers say a screen showing only offers may mean access isn't set up yet, and point workers to HR or payroll. Some September 2026 reviews report statements missing after an update; signin.adp.com or mobile.adp.com in a browser is the fallback.

3

Why does the ADP Mobile app show ads?

Because offers for ADP and third-party products are a listed feature of the free app. Google Play shows a Contains ads badge, the App Store age rating lists Advertising, and Apple's privacy label includes data used for third-party advertising. Neither store page describes a way to switch the offers off.

4

What happens to my ADP account after I leave my job?

It stays open until it sits unused. ADP's privacy statement says an ADP Mobile account inactive for more than 480 days has its login suspended, and the account is deleted 180 days later; your HR administrator can request earlier deletion. Save the pay statements and W-2s you need first, since online access depends on your employer.

5

Is there an alternative to the ADP Mobile app?

Only ADP's own website: signin.adp.com, or mobile.adp.com in a phone browser, opens the same account. Workday's app handles an organization's Workday tasks, and UKG Pro's listing says it serves only authorized UKG customers, so your employer's payroll vendor picks the app. Neither carries a Contains ads badge on Google Play.
