About Trebel Music - Download Songs

TREBEL is a free music app from M&M Media that downloads licensed songs from Universal, Sony, Warner and The Orchard for offline play, funded by ads instead of a subscription. Watching ads earns the coins that playback spends, and tracks play on demand with unlimited skips. The catch arrived with an early-2026 update: free accounts now hit a daily play cap, which reviewers put at 50 to 100 songs.

TREBEL Review: Free Licensed Downloads, Now With a Daily Play Cap

Coins, Ads and the Daily Play Cap Free Accounts Now Hit

The free model runs on coins. Under the terms of service, coins are credited when you engage with ads that generate revenue, and playback spends them. A "Still Listening?" check pauses music so idle sessions do not burn them; the developer says Settings can stretch it to about 40 songs, roughly two hours. Since an update in early 2026, free accounts also meet a daily play cap. The developer confirms the cap in replies to reviews without giving a number, and reviewers report anywhere from 50 to 100 songs a day. Offline listening has a separate quota: after a few hours without a connection, the app has to reconnect briefly to refill it.

Downloads Are Licensed Cache Files That Stay Inside the App

The legal footing is label licensing. The App Store listing names Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Sony Music and The Orchard, and in October 2021 Music Business Worldwide reported a deal with Merlin, which represents independent labels. Because of those licenses, a download is a cached copy rather than an MP3. The developer says the files sit in the app's Library tab, not in phone storage, and the terms forbid moving cached content to another device. Reviewers in 2026 also name artists and albums that are missing or cannot be downloaded, which the developer puts down to licensing negotiated artist by artist.

$9.99 Premium, Sold Only in the US and Mexico

TREBEL Premium Individual costs $9.99 a month in the US App Store, and the developer says it removes both the ads and the daily cap. The Premium terms add a discounted Student plan for students at accredited colleges, and limit Premium to users located in the United States and Mexico. The general terms describe the whole service as provided for people in those two countries and warn that access elsewhere may be limited. Coins are sold as well: 1,000 for $0.99, 2,000 for $1.99 and 5,000 for $4.99, next to Piggy Bank and Big Bank items at $4.99 and $9.99 and a 30-day option at $5.99. Prices are regional and can change.

Installed Apps, Tracking IDs and the 2026 Review Backlash

The Google Play safety form lists installed apps, in-app actions and device IDs among data shared with other companies, including for advertising. The privacy policy explains one reason: TyrSDK from TyrAds, which pays rewards for playing third-party games, reads which apps are installed and how long they are used. Apple's label lists identifiers used to track you across other companies' apps, the listing warns that location may be used while the app is closed, and the company website carries a notice that it may sell sensitive personal data. Of the 150 newest English Play reviews we read, posted from September 15 to October 1, 2026, 27 gave one to three stars: 10 complained about ads, mostly during downloads, and 7 about the play cap or offline timer.

Pros

  • Licensed catalog from Universal, Sony, Warner, The Orchard and Merlin labels
  • Free downloads play offline, on demand, with unlimited skips
  • Premium at $9.99 a month undercuts Spotify Premium's $12.99
  • SongID, Songtastic song quizzes and Versus votes in the same app
  • Compact 64 MB Android install, and existing MP3s can be imported

Cons

  • Free accounts hit a daily play cap, reported at 50 to 100 songs
  • Downloads are in-app cache files and cannot be exported or moved
  • Play form lists installed apps and device IDs shared for advertising
  • Premium and its ad-free listening are sold only in the US and Mexico

Verdict

We score TREBEL 6.3. It is still a rare way to download licensed music from Universal, Sony and Warner for offline play without paying. Points come off for the daily play cap added in 2026, ad loads that reviewers say disrupt downloads, and data practices that include sharing installed apps for advertising. Take it if mobile data is scarce and you play a few dozen songs a day. Skip it if you listen for hours, or want Premium outside the US and Mexico.

Ease of use6.5Coins, boosters, Still Listening checks and offline refills add rules; reviewers describe hard-to-close ads during downloads.
Monetisation6.0Ads still fund it, yet free plays are capped since early 2026; $9.99 Premium removes both.
Performance6.064 MB on Android, but September 2026 reviews report login failures, server errors and ads freezing playback.

Frequently asked questions

1

Is TREBEL really free?

Yes, within limits. Downloads and on-demand play cost nothing and are paid for by ads. Since an early-2026 update, free accounts hit a daily play cap that the developer confirms but does not quantify; reviewers report 50 to 100 songs. Offline, the app must reconnect every few hours to refill its listening quota.

2

Does TREBEL work offline without Wi-Fi?

Yes, for songs you have downloaded. They are cached inside the app's Library and play without data. Free accounts get an offline quota, so after a few hours the app has to reconnect briefly to refill it. Downloads cannot be exported to your phone's storage or copied to another device.

3

How much is TREBEL Premium?

$9.99 a month in the US App Store, and the developer says it removes the ads and the daily play cap. A discounted Student plan exists for verified college students, and Premium is sold only in the United States and Mexico. Coin packs start at $0.99 for 1,000 coins. Prices are regional and can change.

4

How do I cancel TREBEL Premium?

Through the store you subscribed in, Apple's App Store or Google Play. When Premium ends, the account returns to the free tier with ads and the daily cap. Downloads live only inside the app, and reviewers report downloading songs again after reinstalling or switching phones. The Play listing says you can ask the developer to delete your data.

5

Is TREBEL better than Spotify for offline music?

For free offline listening, yes: Spotify Free and Amazon Music's free tier do not download music, and Pandora needs Plus at $5.99 a month for four offline stations. Spotify Premium, at $12.99, downloads up to 10,000 tracks per device with no daily cap. TREBEL's free plays are now capped daily, and its $9.99 Premium is sold only in the US and Mexico.
