Best AI Music Apps for Songs, Stems and Practice, Ranked
AI music apps do three different jobs: write a whole song from a prompt, split a song you own into its parts, or play an endless stream to work to. Su
Mubert is a streaming app for background music: choose one of 40-plus mood channels for focus, sleep, relaxation or workouts, and an endless stream assembled from producer-made samples plays, with like and dislike buttons to steer it. Its store listing describes streams, not text-to-song generation. The larger catch is age: the latest build on both stores dates from December 2023, and recent reviews describe sign-in failures.
Specs come from the official store listings and were last checked on 2026-10-06. Developers change pricing and requirements — check the store page before installing.
Streaming is free once you have an account. Reviewers between 2022 and 2025 say the app asks for sign-up before it plays anything; sign-in is by email or Facebook, plus Sign in with Apple on iOS since the 4.0.1 notes. Inside, the store screenshots count 40-plus mood channels, which the 4.0.0 notes sort under Focus, Sleep, Calm, Chill and Sports. Each channel has an intensity control, described in the 2019 notes as three levels, and heart buttons for like and dislike that, per the store description, train the algorithm. A Loop function holds a moment of the stream. The lineup shifts: a Lofi 90 channel appears in the store's own screenshot, yet a 2024 App Store reviewer could not find it. Neither store shows an ads badge, and premium channels named Meditate, Dream and High are listed at $0.99 each on the App Store.
Share Video is the feature that turns a stream into something you can post. The store description promises a one-minute track from a free account, and the release notes add a Mubert watermark in 4.0.2, which a 3.0.8 note says Premium subscribers can toggle. It is also where reviewers report the most failures. App Store reviewers in 2023 and January 2024 describe a progress bar that finishes with no sign of where the video went, and Google Play reviewers in August 2025 and August 2026 report freezes after the watermark step and a bar that vanishes on a Galaxy A16. Faves, which keeps a stream, replays the saved mix unchanged according to a 2022 reviewer, and a December 2023 review says a Faves station would not play. The sleep timer fades music out gradually but, per its 4.1.0 notes, lives only in Sleep channels.
The App Store lists Monthly Premium at $4.99 and Annual Premium at $38.99 with a seven-day trial; these are US figures that vary by region and can change. What the subscription unlocks is the unclear part. The last itemised list sits in 2019 release notes: the intensity control, the full pool of producer samples and shares without a watermark. Reviewers from 2022 to 2024 describe Premium going unrecognised after purchase, or missing on a second device. Permissions are the other cost. Google Play lists precise location and storage access, and its data safety section says no data is shared with third parties, while the App Store label links email, usage data and photos or videos to your identity. Two Google Play reviewers, in 2023 and 2025, say they could not delete an account from inside the app.

Mubert scores 6.1 for endless focus, sleep and workout streams with an intensity control and no ads badge on either store, held back by a build from December 2023 and sign-in failures in 2025 and 2026 reviews. Take it if you want background music and can confirm sign-in works on your phone before paying for Premium. Skip it if you expect to type a prompt and get a song, need reliable video sharing, or want an app that still gets updates.

Yes, listening is free once you create an account, and neither Google Play nor the App Store shows an ads badge. Premium is optional: the App Store lists Monthly Premium at $4.99, Annual Premium at $38.99 with a seven-day trial, and three channels at $0.99 each. Reviewers say sign-up comes before any music. Prices vary by region and may change.
Not in the app as its store listings describe it. They cover streams, like and dislike buttons and a share option that makes a one-minute track, and one-star reviews from 2023 to 2025 complain about finding no song generator. Mubert's text-to-music tool is a separate web product, Mubert Render, which has a free plan of 25 tracks a month.
The App Store lists $4.99 a month or $38.99 a year with a seven-day trial, about $3.25 a month on the annual plan; check the price in your own store. Whether it is worth it is hard to judge, because the listing does not say what Premium unlocks and some reviewers report purchases not being recognised. Use the free channels first.
Neither store listing describes offline playback, and reviewers from 2019 to 2023 ask for downloads, so assume it needs a connection. Cancel Premium in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Mubert's FAQ for its web product says to use Delete Account in My Profile, but two Google Play reviewers say they could not delete an account inside the app.
For sleep and relaxation, Calm costs $69.99 a year on its App Store listing and also carries no advertising. For station-style listening steered by thumbs, Pandora is free with ads and capped skips. To make music yourself, FL Studio Mobile is a $14.99 purchase with no subscription. Prices vary by region and change.
