How to Delete a Roblox Account, or Just Deactivate It

A Roblox account is deleted from the account's privacy settings — the Delete option under Account data, deactivation & deletion — and Roblox's support page adds two conditions: the account must have a verified email address, and Roblox "will take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling your request." There is a softer alternative on the same screen, Deactivate, which hides the profile and can be undone by logging in again. Deletion cannot: it is the only way to have Roblox erase the personal information it holds, and it takes the avatar, the Robux and every purchase with it. Below is the route from Roblox's own page, what to do before pressing it, and what to do if you cannot log in.
Before you start
Decide between the two options, because Roblox offers both on one screen and they do different things.
Deactivation disables the account and hides the profile. Roblox's page notes that "some information may still be visible to others, such as items you have listed in Roblox Marketplace," and that you can reactivate at any time by logging in. It is the choice for a break, or for a child's account that may be wanted again.
Deletion is a request to erase the personal information Roblox holds about you, and Roblox states this "can only be done by deleting your account." It is permanent. Anything attached to the avatar goes with it: the Robux balance, purchased items, the account's place in any experience, and any Roblox Plus subscription, which should be cancelled in its store first so it does not bill after the account is gone.
Two things Roblox requires. A verified email address on the account — if there is none, add one in Settings and confirm it before starting. And identity verification: the page says Roblox will verify who you are before fulfilling the request and will "provide additional information when there may be issues." For a child's account, the parent linked to it is the one who should make the request.
Step 1. Cancel anything that bills
Roblox Plus, at $4.99 a month as of September 2026, and any Robux bundle subscription are sold through the App Store or Google Play on a phone, and they do not stop because the account is deleted. Cancel them first: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Roblox; on Android, Play Store → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Roblox. Spend or accept the loss of any remaining Robux — they are not refunded.
Step 2. Open the privacy settings
Log in to the account being deleted. In the app, open Settings and then Privacy; on the website, the same page is under Settings → Privacy. Scroll to the section titled Account data, deactivation & deletion. Both options sit there.
Step 3. Choose Delete and complete verification
Select Delete. Roblox then asks you to confirm and begins the identity check. Follow the prompts — they may involve confirming through the verified email, a code, or the age-verification route the platform already uses for chat. If Roblox needs more, it says so at this point rather than silently declining.
Once the request is accepted, the account is scheduled for deletion. Roblox's page does not publish a fixed timeline; the confirmation you receive is the record to keep.
Step 4. If you cannot log in
Roblox's page covers this case directly: "If you cannot log into your account or you need assistance deleting your account, you can reach out to us through the Roblox support form." Use the form, choose the account category, and give the username and the email the account was registered with. Roblox will verify ownership before deleting — it cannot delete an account on a stranger's say-so, which is the point of the check.
A parent deleting a child's account they do not control follows the same form, with the parent's own contact details.
If it does not work
There is no Delete option, only Deactivate. The account has no verified email. Add one under Settings → Account Info, confirm it from the inbox, and reopen the privacy settings.
Verification keeps failing. The details you enter must match the account — the registered email in particular. If they cannot, use the support form and explain; Roblox states it will tell you what the issue is.
You meant to take a break. Choose Deactivate instead. It hides the profile and is reversed by logging in; nothing is lost.
The subscription charged after deletion. It was billed by Apple or Google, not by Roblox, and deleting the account does not reach it. Cancel it in the store, and ask the store for a refund of the charge after the deletion date.
You changed your mind. Deletion is described by Roblox as permanent. If the request has only just been made, contact support immediately through the form; once it has been processed, the account and its data are gone.
Bottom line
Privacy settings → Account data, deactivation & deletion → Delete, with a verified email on the account and an identity check to pass — or the support form if you cannot log in. Cancel Roblox Plus in the App Store or Play Store first, because deleting the account will not. If the goal is a pause rather than an ending, Deactivate on the same screen does that and can be undone; Delete cannot.
