Overwatch Rush: Blizzard's Top-Down Shooter Is in Soft Launch in Three Countries

What Blizzard Has Announced, and Where You Can Actually Install It

Blizzard's own words settle the scope: Overwatch Rush is an entirely new game, not a port, made by a dedicated team separate from Team 4 with mobile experience, and the first testing phase in select countries ended April 19, 2026 — the Philippines App Store lists March 12 as its release. The soft launch followed on August 31, 2026 in Indonesia, with Malaysia and the Philippines days later, as Enduins and GosuGamers reported from Blizzard's press release; the App Store listings for Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines show September 1 and 2 as release dates and the game is absent from the US storefront. Google Play's listing counts 100,000-plus downloads at a 3.5 rating and calls the build an early release in active development. Blizzard says further regions come in future phases and points players to its Discord for dates; nothing names a global launch.

Nine Heroes, Three Maps, 4v4 Control, 3v3 and Duo Deathmatch

The roster at soft launch is nine: Tracer, Reinhardt, Soldier: 76, Reaper, Kiriko, Pharah, Mercy, Lúcio — reworked with wall-jumps and gap-crossing, per Enduins — and Brigitte, the ninth, added with Shield Bash and Whip Shot. The view is top-down, the matches are quick: classic 4v4 Control, a compact 3v3 Control with faster captures, a Duo Deathmatch of three two-player teams, and solo free-for-all. Three maps reshape Overwatch places — Narwhal Cove from Gibraltar, Hydronet Gardens from Cairo and Mansión Portero from Dorado, the newest. Progression runs on Hero Levels with currency earned in matches, Mods that tune stats and Talents that change how abilities work, under a streamlined Hero Evolution system, with aim-assist options and improved early training in the current update. Parties with friends are listed as coming soon. Update 1.1 fixed Battle.net account merging and log-in problems and added a vibration setting.

Credits and a Kingpin Skin — No Ads, Android 8, 3.1 GB on iPhone

The shop is already open in the soft-launch countries. Google Play prices items from $0.99 to $9.99, its listing carries $6.99, $9.99 and $12.99 entries, and Blizzard's launch bundle pairs an Epic Kingpin skin for Soldier: 76 with 2,000 Credits, with separate Credit bundles beside it; Blizzard's line is that player skill remains the defining factor in every match. Neither store shows an advertising badge. The Android build is version 0.4.40531, updated September 15, 2026, on Android 8.0 or newer; the iOS build is 3.1 GB on iOS 15, rated 12+ by Apple and Teen on Google Play, with 84 to 224 ratings per storefront at 4.0 to 4.3. Google's data-safety card lists App activity, App info and performance and Device IDs both collected and shared. Until the game reaches the stores outside Southeast Asia, this page carries no score, no pros and cons, and no download buttons.
