The GTA 6 Collector's Box Backlash, in Rockstar's Own Prices

The PlayStation Store listing for Grand Theft Auto VI now carries the full content rating, and it reads like a list of everything the series has ever been accused of. It also carries a detail nobody is talking about: pre-ordering enrols you in a month of GTA+, and the store says it auto-renews. The page sets the price at $79.99 for the Standard edition, $99.99 for the Ultimate, and the release at November 19.
According to the PlayStation Store, checked on October 1, the page for Grand Theft Auto VI now shows the mature rating with its content descriptors spelled out: blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and use of drugs and alcohol. A rating this complete usually means the build submitted for classification is finished rather than in progress.
Two lines beside it answer questions the trailers did not. The listing says offline play is enabled and lists the game as one player — confirmation that the story campaign is a solo, offline-capable game rather than something that needs a connection. It also marks in-game purchases as present and optional.
The technical notes are short: PS5, enhanced for PS5 Pro, remote play supported, vibration and trigger effects on the DualSense controller.
Then there is the pre-order line. Buying ahead of release adds a one-month GTA+ subscription, and the store states plainly that it auto-renews.
The subscription is the part worth acting on. A free month that renews by itself is a charge with a delay on it, and the only way to keep the month without the charge is to cancel it the day it starts — the subscription runs to its end date either way. On a PlayStation that lives under Settings, your account, then subscriptions.
The rating itself changes nothing about the game but says something about the schedule for Grand Theft Auto VI. Classification happens on a finished build, and the publisher has shown no sign of moving away from November 19.
The pricing is the familiar split: $79.99 for the base game, $99.99 for the Ultimate edition. Both are pre-order prices on the store today, and the content descriptors apply to both.
Release is November 19, and the listing is now complete enough that the remaining unknowns are about the game rather than the purchase: how large the map is at launch, and what the optional in-game purchases actually cover.
The thing to watch between now and then is the GTA+ month. It is attached to the pre-order rather than the release, so for anyone pre-ordering today the free period and the first renewal both land well before the game does.
A mature rating, with the store listing its content as blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and use of drugs and alcohol. Ratings are assigned on a finished build, which is why the listing appearing now matters.
For a month. The store states the one-month subscription auto-renews, so it becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel. Cancelling immediately still leaves you the full free month — the period runs to its end date either way.
$79.99 for the Standard edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate edition on the PlayStation Store as of October 2026, both as pre-orders ahead of the November 19 release on PS5.
Not for the story. The listing marks offline play as enabled and the game as single player, with in-game purchases present but optional. That covers the campaign; the separate online component has not been detailed in the same listing.
