The Witcher 3 Remastered Arrives as a Free Upgrade
CD Projekt Red's remaster of The Witcher 3 lands on September 29, and the studio announced it as a free upgrade for everyone who already owns the game
The Google app is the search box with a camera attached. Lens identifies objects, artworks and clothes from a photo or a screenshot and returns shopping results with prices, multisearch combines an image with typed words, Gemini answers questions in the same app, and the home screen is a Discover feed of articles chosen for you. It is free, ad-supported, and collects thirteen categories of data.
Specs come from the official store listings and were last checked on 2026-10-01. Developers change pricing and requirements — check the store page before installing.
Point it at a pair of trainers in a screenshot and the results come back as products with prices and merchant names attached — $45 and $65 in the store example — rather than as a list of web links. The same tool identifies a painting down to its title, reads and translates text in the frame, and has a homework mode for photographed problems. Multisearch adds a second dimension: an image of a shoe plus the word red returns red versions across several shops, which text search alone cannot do.
Two feeds compete for the same space. A Gemini tab sits beside search, offering prompt suggestions and accepting typed, spoken or photographed input — the writing helper takes a photo of a dog and drafts a caption for it. Below the search box, Discover fills the screen with articles picked from your history and interests, alongside a weather card and shortcuts for shopping and translation. It is the part people either read daily or want gone, and it is the reason the app knows so much about its user.
Google Play lists thirteen collected categories, including location and personal information, with no third-party sharing declared, and the listing carries a Contains ads badge — sponsored results appear inside search, which is the company's entire business. Apple rates the iPhone build 17+ for unrestricted web content. The store ratings diverge as usual for Google's apps: 4.6 on the App Store from 5 million ratings against 4.0 across 29.4 million Play reviews. Nothing in the app is sold directly, which puts the entire commercial weight of the product on those sponsored placements and on the profile behind them.

Install it for the camera rather than the search box: Lens and multisearch answer questions that typing cannot, and shopping results with prices attached save real time. The Discover feed is the part to decide about deliberately — it is the reason the app reads well and the reason it collects thirteen data categories. Turning it off leaves a very good visual search tool and nothing you have to feed.

Yes, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Advertising funds it: the Play listing carries a Contains ads badge and sponsored results appear among ordinary search results. Lens, multisearch, Discover and the Gemini tab are all included at no cost.
Searching with a picture and words at the same time — an image of a shoe plus the word red returns red versions of that style across shops. It answers questions that neither a photo nor a text query could handle alone, and it is the most genuinely new thing in the app.
No. Identification, translation, homework help and shopping results from a photo are all free, and there is no usage cap on the camera. Products it finds link out to merchants, which is where money changes hands, but nothing in the tool itself is paid.
Yes — the feed can be disabled in settings, leaving a plain search box, and individual topics can be blocked as they appear. Doing so also removes the main reason the app builds a profile of what you read, which is worth knowing if the data card is the concern.
Chrome from the same company covers search and Lens inside a browser instead. ChatGPT and Gemini's own app handle the assistant half without a news feed attached. This app is chosen for Lens and multisearch, which no rival matches on a phone.
