How to Cancel Garmin Connect+ and Keep Your Watch Data

Garmin Connect+ is cancelled on Garmin's own website, not in the App Store or Google Play: sign in to the Subscription Portal, choose Manage on the Connect+ plan, select Cancel Plan, tick the acknowledgement and confirm. The subscription — $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year as of September 2026 — is billed by Garmin directly, which is why neither store lists it under in-app purchases and why looking for it there finds nothing. Two things Garmin's support pages warn about: a new subscription can take up to 72 hours to appear in the portal, and the 30-day trial needs a card that is charged the moment the trial ends.

Before you start

Garmin Connect itself stays free, and cancelling Connect+ takes nothing from the watch data: sleep score, Body Battery, stress, every recorded activity and every chart across a year remain in the free app. Connect+ sells interpretation of that data — AI-written insights, a performance dashboard, coaching plans, nutrition tracking, 3D maps, enhanced LiveTrack. Cancelling removes those and nothing else.

Where the subscription lives decides how it is cancelled. Garmin bills Connect+ through its own Subscription Portal, and both store listings reflect that: the Google Play page declares no in-app purchases, and the App Store page shows no in-app purchase section at all. So the Subscriptions screen in iPhone Settings or in the Play Store will not show Connect+, and there is nothing wrong with your account when it does not.

Have the email address you used for your Garmin account. Garmin's support page notes that if a subscription is not visible, the first thing to verify is that you have signed in with the correct email.

Step 1. Open the Subscription Portal

Go to Garmin's Subscription Management Center in a browser and sign in. From inside the app there is a path to the same place: More → Settings → Garmin Connect+ opens the subscription settings, and the website route is the profile icon in the top right → Account Settings → Garmin Connect+.

The Connect+ plan should be listed with a Manage button beside it. If it is not, and you subscribed or started a trial within the last three days, see the first entry under "If it does not work" — this is the delay Garmin documents.

Step 2. Cancel the plan

Garmin's instructions for Connect+ and every other non-device subscription are four actions:

  • Select Manage on the subscription you want to change.
  • Select Cancel Plan under the plan you wish to cancel.
  • Check the box confirming that cancelling will turn off subscription-related features and functions.
  • Select Cancel Service.

Garmin's page then states: "You have now canceled the subscription." Access continues until the end of the period already paid for, and the card is not charged again.

If you are on the 30-day free trial, cancel the same way. Garmin's Connect+ FAQ is explicit that "you can cancel any time and canceling will not impact the duration of your trial" — the remaining trial days stay available after you cancel. Do it before day 30: the card you entered to start the trial "is not charged until the free trial has ended," and on that day it is.

Step 3. Check what you keep

Garmin's FAQ lists what happens to each premium feature after the end date, and it is not uniform:

  • Badges and points earned with Connect+ are retained; profile frames are removed.
  • Nutrition: entries you already made stay readable, but nothing new can be added.
  • Enhanced LiveTrack: the personalised URL, session and SMS notifications continue for 30 days after expiry.
  • Active Intelligence stops generating messages on the end date.
  • Performance Dashboard, Live Activity, 3D Maps and premium training content are no longer available.
  • Exclusive offer codes already redeemed stay valid for 180 days from redemption or until the offer expires.

Nothing on that list touches a measurement. The watch collects the same things either way.

If it does not work

The subscription is not in the portal. Garmin's support article for exactly this case says that after activation the subscription "is still processing," that processing "is typically completed within 72 hours," and that once the activation email arrives you can return to the portal and cancel. Wait for the email, then repeat Step 1. If you are in a trial, the three days count against the 30 — start early.

You see a different Garmin subscription. The portal manages most of them, and the cancel path is the same. Two exceptions follow a separate route through Account Manager → Subscription & Service Plans: inReach, Bounce, Dash Cam and a few provisioned devices, where Garmin offers Cancel Immediately with a prorated refund, Cancel at End of Term, or Cancel at End of Trial. Connect+ is not one of those.

The card was charged after you cancelled. Check the date on the invoice — the portal's Manage → Update Payment Info page has a Download Invoice option. A charge dated before the cancellation is the last billing period, and access runs to the end of it. A charge dated after is a support case: Contact Us from the same support page.

You changed plans instead of cancelling. Garmin locks plan changes for 24 hours after a change. Cancel Plan is separate from Change Plan and is not affected, but if you have just switched from monthly to annual, read the plan you are cancelling before confirming.

Bottom line

Cancel Connect+ in Garmin's Subscription Portal — Manage, Cancel Plan, tick the box, Cancel Service — and ignore the App Store and Play Store, which never billed it. Do it any time during the 30-day trial without losing the trial, and do it before day 30 if you do not want the $6.99. The free app keeps every number the watch produced; what goes is the commentary on them.

Frequently asked questions

1

How do I cancel Garmin Connect+?

Sign in to Garmin's Subscription Portal, select Manage on the Connect+ plan, select Cancel Plan, check the acknowledgement box and select Cancel Service. It is billed by Garmin, so it does not appear in the App Store or Google Play subscription lists.

2

Can I cancel the Garmin Connect+ free trial without losing it?

Yes. Garmin's FAQ states cancelling 'will not impact the duration of your trial' — the remaining days of the 30 stay available. The card entered at sign-up is charged only if the trial reaches its end uncancelled.

3

Why can't I see Garmin Connect+ in my subscriptions?

Two reasons, per Garmin. A new subscription can take up to 72 hours to process and appear in the portal — wait for the activation email. And it is never listed in Apple or Google subscription screens, because Garmin bills it directly.

4

What do I lose when I cancel Garmin Connect+?

The premium layer only: AI insights, performance dashboard, coaching content, 3D maps, live activity, profile frames and new nutrition entries. Sleep score, Body Battery, stress and every recorded activity stay in the free app; earned badges are kept.
