Way of the Hunter Wild Europe is THQ Nordic Mobile's second hunting sim for phones — Transylvanian mountains, forests and grasslands with 15 species from wild boar to brown bear, real ballistics, wind and a rewindable bullet camera — sold outright at $10.99 on iOS and Android since January 13, 2026, with two small gear packs and no ads. It sits at 2.8 on Google Play, and the reviews compare it unfavourably with the first game, Wild America: lower image quality, animals hard to find, and lag on phones that run heavier games fine.
Specs come from the official store listings and were last checked on 2026-09-21. Developers change pricing and requirements — check the store page before installing.
The simulation is the console game's, shrunk: an open Transylvanian map of peaks, misty forests and sun-lit meadows where chamois climb cliffs and red deer graze valleys, with 15 species — wild boar, mouflon, roe and red deer, golden jackal, brown bear among them — each with its own behaviour and animations. The tools are the series' professional set: Hunter Sense to read the ground, blood-trail analysis after a shot, a rewindable bullet-time camera that shows the round's path through the animal, and an anatomy screen for ethical shot placement. Ballistics, real-time wind and a day-night cycle govern every stalk; a story campaign runs alongside free roam, with vehicles to cross the map. A January 13, 2026 App Store five-star calls it very realistic and asks for an Africa map next; an April four-star wants more weapons and gear.
The reviews measure it against the first mobile game, and it loses. The most-voted Play review, a January 16, 2026 four-star with nine votes, found Wild America a bit laggy and Wild Europe laggier still, while still as fun; a July 13 two-star says the image and effects quality is significantly lower and, worse, that animals are nowhere to be found at the same difficulty; a September 9 three-star runs it on low graphics with a 30-frame cap it calls horrible on a phone that handles demanding titles without heat or stutter. On the App Store, a January 31 one-star crashes on every launch. THQ Nordic Mobile's January 21–22 patches fixed an Android 10 startup crash, a download screen that stuck when storage ran out, falling through the map on loading a save and disappearing cars on fast travel — and nothing has shipped since, on either store, in eight months.
The pricing is clean: $10.99 on both stores, no advertising, and two optional in-app packs — the Steyr Arms Pack at $2.99 and the Hunter's Pack at $1.99 — with Google Play's range listed as $0.99 to $3.99. Google's data-safety card declares nothing collected and nothing shared; Apple lists no tracking. The hardware ask is real for the price: iOS 15 with an A12 Bionic chip or later — iPhone XS and newer — and 1.1 GB; Android 9 or later with no size published, and the reviews say the true floor is higher on Android than the listing implies. Sixteen languages; rated Teen and 13+. Eight months after release it shows 1,000-plus installs on Play, which for a $10.99 mobile sim is a small audience talking to itself. Prices are regional.

A 6.1: a real hunting simulator at a fair one-time price, on a map worth walking, that its own players say runs worse and shows fewer animals than the game before it — and that has not been patched since January. Take it if you finished Wild America, have a recent phone, and want Europe's species. Skip it if you have not played the first game — buy that instead — or if your phone is near the listed floor.
Yes, once the game's data is downloaded — it is single-player, with no ads, no multiplayer and no data collection on Google's card. One of the January 2026 fixes concerned a download screen that stuck when storage ran out, so leave room for the initial download on Wi-Fi; after that nothing needs a connection.
No. It is $10.99 on both the App Store and Google Play, paid once, with no ads. Two optional packs exist — the Steyr Arms Pack at $2.99 and the Hunter's Pack at $1.99 — and nothing else; Google Play's item range is $0.99 to $3.99. Prices vary by region.
On iPhone, iOS 15 with an A12 Bionic chip or later — iPhone XS and newer — and 1.1 GB free; on Android, 9 or later. The reviews say to aim higher: a September 2026 player on a phone that runs demanding games still needed low settings and a 30-frame cap, and the most-voted review found it laggier than Wild America. iPad is supported.
No. The console and PC Way of the Hunter has co-op, but the mobile version is single-player only — the store listings describe no multiplayer, and the reviews mention none. The campaign and free roam are yours alone.
The campaign is several hours of missions across the Transylvanian map, and free roam with 15 species and trophy goals stretches far beyond it for anyone the stalking suits. The July 2026 complaint that animals are hard to find cuts both ways: hunts take longer, and so does the game. No new maps or content have been added since launch.
