About Chick-fil-A

The chain's own app handles order-ahead for the drive-thru, curbside, carryout and dine-in, books delivery, and runs the free Chick-fil-A One program: 10 points per dollar, rewards from 200 points and no point expiry. Pickup is the strong side. Delivery menu prices sit above in-store prices before fees, and since March 23, 2026 members must be at least 18.

Chick-fil-A Review: Points That Never Expire, Delivery That Costs Extra

10 points per dollar, rewards from 200: how the One tiers add up

Every qualifying dollar earns 10 points, and the help center says higher tiers earn more per dollar. Rewards start at 200 points for an Icedream cone, while 12-count nuggets cost 1,200, about $120 of spending at the base rate. Tier progress resets each January 1: Silver starts at 1,000 points, Red at 4,000 and Signature at 10,000, with status kept through the next year. Points never expire, unlike Wendy's Rewards points, which lapse after 365 days, though accounts idle for 24 months can be closed. A missed scan can be claimed from the receipt within 30 days. Airport, campus and hospital locations do not accept the app. Values can change.

Mobile Thru and geofencing: why the kitchen waits for you to arrive

Pickup covers the drive-thru, carryout, curbside (tap I'm here and food comes to the car), Mobile Dine-In through a table QR tag, and Mobile Thru, a dedicated drive-thru lane with QR check-in at participating restaurants. With location on, geofencing tells the restaurant you are close, so cooking on curbside and carryout orders starts as you approach, not at checkout. The card is charged when you tap Prepare my order, an authorization hold can last 3–5 business days, and cancelling works only before preparation starts. Refunds are each restaurant's call. A One Card balance must cover the whole total, and Apple CarPlay orders only from favorites and recent orders.

Delivery via DoorDash: higher menu prices, no DashPass, points only in-app

Deliver to me offers in-house Chick-fil-A Delivery, a DoorDash courier, or both, depending on the address. On the DoorDash route, DoorDash is the merchant of record and handles payment problems, DashPass benefits do not apply, and gift cards are refused. The help center says delivery menu prices are higher than in the restaurant, with delivery, small-order and service fees on top, and fees, tips and taxes earn no points. The same food ordered in the DoorDash or Uber Eats apps earns no points at all. Third-party delivery ends 30 minutes before closing, and there is no delivery on Sundays. Fees vary by location and can change.

Background location, ad partners, an 18+ gate and a June 2026 breach

The privacy policy dated June 12, 2026 says the app may collect location in the foreground or background, with permission, and use it for marketing, and that program data may go to social media, advertising and analytics partners for targeted ads; Google Play's Data safety form says nothing is shared with third parties. Since March 23, 2026 members must be 18, up from 13, and the app checks the age range set in your Apple or Google account; the website is the fallback. From June 17 to 19, 2026, attackers logged into member accounts with passwords stolen elsewhere, potentially exposing names, emails, QR codes and the last four card digits.

Pros

  • Points have no expiry date, and rewards start at 200 points
  • Mobile Thru gives app orders a dedicated drive-thru lane with QR check-in
  • Silver members and above can gift redeemed rewards through a share link
  • Red and Signature tiers add two free College Football Hall of Fame tickets yearly
  • A missed scan can still earn points from the receipt within 30 days
  • Redeemed rewards not yet in an order can be reversed back into points

Cons

  • Delivery menu prices run above in-store prices, before delivery and service fees
  • Curbside and carryout cooking starts when geofencing spots you, not at checkout
  • Since March 23, 2026, users under 18 are shut out of the program
  • 45 of the 150 newest Play reviews gave 1–2 stars, often over sign-in failures

Verdict

We score the app 7.4: points that never expire, five pickup modes and real tier perks make pickup its strength, while pricier delivery, background location, the June 2026 account breach and recent sign-in complaints pull it down. Take it if you pick up at the chain every week. Skip it if you are under 18, order mostly delivery, or want location off.

Core function8.5Five pickup modes, in-app delivery and non-expiring points, though airport and campus licensed locations reject the app.
Ease of use7.0Saved favorites speed up reorders, but every sign-in needs a text code and VPN detection blocks some users.
Monetisation8.0Free with no in-app purchases; 12-count nuggets cost 1,200 points, about $120 at the base rate.
Performance6.545 of the 150 newest English Play reviews were 1–2 stars, citing crashes and failed sign-ups.
Privacy & permissions5.5Background location, targeted-ad disclosures to partners and a June 2026 credential-stuffing breach of member accounts.

Frequently asked questions

1

Do Chick-fil-A One points expire?

No. The points have no expiry date, but each reward carries its own expiration, and tier progress resets to zero every January 1. Accounts with no qualifying activity for 24 months can be closed, which wipes the balance. Wendy's Rewards points, by comparison, lapse 365 days after they post.

2

Why does Chick-fil-A wait until I arrive to make my mobile order?

Because curbside and carryout orders are timed by geofencing: with location on, the app tells the restaurant you are close so cooking starts then, which the help center says shortens the wait. If automatic check-in fails, check in by hand in the app; Mobile Thru orders check in with a QR code in the lane.

3

Is Chick-fil-A delivery more expensive through the app?

Yes, compared with pickup. The help center says delivery menu prices are higher than in the restaurant, plus delivery, small-order and service fees that vary by restaurant and can change. In-app delivery still earns points on the food; orders placed in the DoorDash or Uber Eats apps earn none, and DashPass does not apply.

4

How do I delete my Chick-fil-A One account?

Use the company's CARES web form: choose Account, rewards & payment, then the One account option, then Delete an account. Unredeemed points and rewards are lost, and a request may not go through while a gift card balance remains. For 2025, the company reported granting 209 of 495 deletion requests in whole or in part.

5

Was the Chick-fil-A app hacked in 2026?

Member accounts were: the company says attackers used email and password pairs from a third-party source between June 17 and 19, 2026. Affected accounts were logged out, saved payment methods removed and balances restored. Use a unique password; every sign-in also requires a one-time text code.
