Best Food Delivery and Restaurant Apps, Ranked
Uber Eats and DoorDash finish within a tenth of each other at 7.4 and 7.3, and the tiebreaker is not the restaurants — it is that both now let one del
Uber Eats has stopped being a restaurant app: the top of the screen now offers groceries, convenience stores, electronics and pharmacies alongside takeaway, and a single order can combine items from two different shops without a second delivery fee. Uber One costs $9.99 a month for free delivery and discounts. Rides sit in the same app for anyone who also uses Uber.
Specs come from the official store listings and were last checked on 2026-09-07. Developers change pricing and requirements — check the store page before installing.
The bundled order screen shows a burrito and a burrito bowl from one restaurant sitting above chips from a supermarket, with a line stating there is no additional delivery fee for the second store's items and a promotion saving $3.99 on the total. That is the app's most practical trick: dinner and the thing you forgot arrive together, on one fee. The category chips above — grocery, convenience, retail — turn the same courier network into a general delivery service rather than a food one. Delivery estimates update as the courier moves, and the map shows the route rather than a spinning icon.
The membership is $9.99 monthly or $96 for a year, covering $0 delivery on eligible orders, up to 10% off qualifying baskets and 6% back on Uber rides — the last of which matters because rides and food share one account. Restaurant listings mark which offers apply to members, alongside the ordinary promotions: spend $30 and save $10, delivery for $1.99, twenty to thirty minutes. Without the membership, delivery and service fees are charged per order at checkout. Cancelling the membership is done in the account settings rather than through the app store, which makes it easier to leave than most subscriptions.
The Play listing carries a Contains ads badge, and sponsored restaurants appear in browse results marked as offers rather than as adverts, which is worth knowing when a chain sits at the top of the list. Google Play records five collected categories, with personal information, financial information and two others shared with third parties. Ratings are strong on both stores — 4.8 on the App Store from 10.7 million ratings, 4.6 across 7.81 million Play reviews. For an app handling payment details, that sharing list is the part most worth reading before saving a card.

The bundled order is the reason to prefer it: dinner and a forgotten grocery item on one delivery fee is genuinely useful, and the same account covers rides. Everything else is standard for the category, including menu prices that run above the restaurant's own. Uber One at $9.99 makes sense past about two orders a month; below that, the per-order fees are cheaper.

The app is free and has no in-app purchases, but each order carries delivery and service fees unless you subscribe. It also carries advertising — the Play listing has a Contains ads badge, and sponsored restaurants appear in results marked as offers.
Adding items from a second shop to an order already in progress — a supermarket alongside a restaurant — with no additional delivery fee for the second store. The app shows both baskets in one checkout, which is the clearest advantage it has over ordering twice.
$9.99 a month or $96 a year. It covers $0 delivery on eligible orders, up to 10% off qualifying baskets and 6% back on Uber rides, since the membership spans both services. Whether it pays depends on ordering more than roughly twice a month.
Often not. Restaurants set their own menu prices for delivery platforms and frequently mark them up to cover commission, so the same dish can cost more here than at the counter. The delivery and service fees are charged on top of that marked-up price.
DoorDash has wider US coverage and an almost identical membership at $9.99. Collecting an order yourself avoids every fee and the price markup. This one is the better choice if you already use Uber for rides, since one membership covers both.
