The Witcher 3 Remastered Arrives as a Free Upgrade
CD Projekt Red's remaster of The Witcher 3 lands on September 29, and the studio announced it as a free upgrade for everyone who already owns the game
Xodo is a PDF reader and editor for iPhone, iPad and Android that is free to read and annotate with, but its own plan guide says the free plan puts a watermark on documents. A subscription, $11.99 a month on the US App Store, adds Word and Excel export, redaction, Smart Pen and unlimited Xodo Actions. The same Toolbox also scans, signs and fills forms, and opened files can be edited offline.
Specs come from the official store listings and were last checked on 2026-10-06. Developers change pricing and requirements — check the store page before installing.
Reading and annotating are the free core, and Xodo's support pages say they stay free for personal use, while business use needs a paid licence. Everything else runs through Xodo Actions, a tab grouped as Convert from PDF, Convert to PDF, Edit, Manage and Convert From Office. Most are free up to a daily limit that resets the next day, and a grey bar on the Tools tab shows how many free actions are left. The plan guide on its site adds that documents get a watermark on free-plan usage. Google Play reviewers tie that to saving and sharing: one says a PDF the app never touched still came out marked when shared, another that read-only files now land in a protected folder unless you pay or accept the mark. By contrast, Adobe Scan's free files carry no watermark, although its free text recognition stops at five pages.
Annotate mode is the strongest free part. Its toolbar covers highlight, underline, strikeout, freehand drawing, typed text and sticky notes, and colour, opacity and line thickness can all be changed, with a picker offering Grid, Spectrum and Sliders tabs. Apple Pencil and Samsung S Pen are both supported. Smart Pen is the paid shortcut: it lays text markup and ink on the page without switching tools. Annotating while in Reader mode is on the subscription list too. Fill & Sign is free within the daily limit, and a signature can be typed, drawn or imported from an image. Redact PDF blacks out text, whole pages or a page range for good, but it sits in the paid Redaction Toolbar, next to the Word, PowerPoint, Excel and HTML export.
The US App Store lists Xodo Mobile at $11.99 monthly and $107.99 yearly, and Xodo's plan guide puts the Android yearly plan at $109.99. Prices are regional and change, so check the subscription sheet in the app. The 3-day free trial exists on the annual plan only, and the Android subscription page says refunds are not offered, with cancelling done through Google Play. A mobile subscription also opens Xodo Web. On data, the Android listing, published by Apryse Software Inc., lists name, email, user ID, phone number and approximate location as collected and says some of it is shared with other companies. The App Store label says usage data may be used for tracking. Data is encrypted in transit and deletion can be requested.

The score rewards a deep annotation toolbox and a scanner, converter and signer in one Toolbox, then docks the watermark, the daily action limit and the $11.99 monthly price. Take it if you mostly read, highlight and sign PDFs on a phone or tablet, or you will pay for Word export and redaction. Skip it if you need clean exports for free, must pass other people's files on unmarked, or prefer Adobe Acrobat Reader's free Fill & Sign.

On the free plan it can. Xodo's own plan guide lists watermarks on documents as a free-plan limit, and Google Play reviewers report them on saved and shared copies, even for files they only opened. Reading and annotating stay free for personal use. Most Xodo Actions are free up to a daily limit, and a subscription lifts both.
Yes to scanning. Scan Documents in the Toolbox offers auto-shutter capture, cropping, image clean-up and rearranging pages, and Image to PDF turns gallery photos into a PDF. Saving scans as searchable text with OCR is listed under the paid subscription on the App Store. One premium user on Google Play says scanning is the one thing that still needs work.
The US App Store lists Xodo Mobile at $11.99 monthly and $107.99 yearly, and Xodo's guide puts the Android yearly plan at $109.99, with a 3-day trial on the annual plan only. It pays off if you convert to Word, redact or annotate in Reader mode often. For reading and highlighting, the free plan is enough. Prices vary by region.
Yes for files already on the device. Xodo says that once a file is downloaded or opened you can read and edit it without a connection, so documents kept in Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or iCloud need downloading first. Subscriptions are cancelled in the App Store or Google Play rather than inside the app, and Xodo's Android page says refunds are not offered.
Adobe Acrobat Reader is the closest swap: its App Store listing names Fill & Sign, sticky notes, comments and highlighting as free-to-use features and sells its editing tools by subscription. Adobe Scan keeps free scans watermark-free but limits free text recognition to five pages. Xodo's edge is that scanning, conversion and annotation share one Toolbox.
