Ares: The Iron Vanguard Adds a 20-Player Dragon Raid

A week after its global launch, Com2uS Holdings has given Ares: The Iron Vanguard its first major update: the timed boss raid Giganto Machia against the giant Kassias, a 20-player Interception against the dragon Barbatos with the rare Xenosprime mount as a drop, and a new Operator Cell progression layer that both feed.
What was announced
Com2uS Holdings released the update to Ares: The Iron Vanguard on September 23, eight days after the game's worldwide launch on September 15. Both additions are co-op content, and both are free.
Giganto Machia is the centrepiece: a raid against the massive boss Kassias, open at fixed times rather than on demand. Rewards are handed out by contribution ranking — crafting materials, gear, Relics and, new here, items for the Operator Cell system.
Operator Cells are that system: cells slot into dedicated sockets on an Operator and are enhanced to push the character past its previous ceiling. A check-in event hands out the growth materials to start, and the Giganto Machia raid drops cell gear specifically.
The second addition is Barbatos, a large-scale Interception for up to 20 players against a dragon. Clearing it gives high-tier gear and a chance at the rare mount Xenosprime.
What it means for players
Two raid formats a week after launch is fast, and it tells you what the game is: a co-op action RPG that expects a guild-sized group rather than solo play. A 20-player Interception needs an organised roster on a phone, which is the genre's hardest ask.
The Operator Cell layer is the part worth watching. Any new socket-and-enhance system added on top of existing gear is also a new place for the economy to sit; Com2uS has not said whether cell materials appear in paid bundles as well as raid drops.
For a phone, a 20-player fight is also a battery and thermal question: expect the longest Interception runs to be where a mid-range device starts throttling.
Timed raids also mean the schedule matters. Contribution ranking rewards the players who can show up at the set hour, not the ones who grind the most in total.
What happens next
Com2uS has not announced a content roadmap beyond this update. The next milestone for a new game of this kind is usually a first collaboration or season, four to eight weeks after launch.
