Limit Zero Breakers Wraps Its Frontier Test: Chapter 3, Six Raids

Limit Zero Breakers' closed Frontier Test ended on September 13 at 7:00 p.m. PDT after five days on Steam, iOS and Android, according to publisher NCSOFT. The build added Main Story Chapter 3, two side stories, six boss raids, a new Primal Gear equipment system and a roster of about a dozen characters, with combat, art and interface changes made after the previous test. No release date has been set.
What was announced
NCSOFT opened sign-ups in August and ran the Frontier Test from September 9 to September 13, closing at 7:00 p.m. PDT. It was the anime-style action RPG's second closed test, run on PC via Steam, iOS and Android.
What testers got, per NCSOFT's test notes: Main Story Chapter 3 picking up from the first test's ending, two spin-off side stories, six boss raids designed for co-op, a new Primal Gear equipment layer on top of character progression, and an expanded lineup of around twelve playable characters. The developer, VIC Game Studios, also listed changes made in response to feedback from the first test: adjustments to the combat systems, redrawn character and background art, and a revised interface.
The game itself is a multiplayer open-area action RPG — real-time combat, party play and a gacha character roster — developed by VIC Game Studios and published by NCSOFT, positioned by NCSOFT alongside Aion 2 and Cinder City in its 2026 line-up, and listed on Steam as "coming soon".
What it means for players
A second closed test with raids and an equipment system is the stage where a gacha RPG's economy gets tuned, so the build testers played is close to what will ship. Running the test on Steam and both mobile stores at once also says where the game is headed: a simultaneous PC and phone launch, which NCSOFT has done with its recent cross-platform titles.
For anyone who missed the sign-up, nothing from the test carries over — closed tests wipe — and NCSOFT has not promised an open beta. The Steam page's "coming soon" and the mobile pre-registration pages are the places a date will appear first.
What happens next
NCSOFT has not announced a launch window beyond the game's place in its 2026 plans. The studio typically follows a Frontier-style test with a results post and, if needed, a final open test; neither is scheduled as of September 18.
