PUBG Mobile 4.6: Vampire Faction Battles Start This Weekend

PUBG Mobile's 4.6 update has been live since September 9, and its headline mode, Bloodline Awakening, opens its hunter-versus-vampire faction battles on Fridays to Sundays starting September 18–20. Being eliminated does not end the match: you return as a vampire and hunt the squad that downed you. The update also adds an inflatable boat, buffs the ACE32 and brings Ocean Odyssey back in October.
What was announced
According to the 4.6 patch notes, published in-game and on PUBG Mobile's official channels ahead of the September 9 release, the update centres on Bloodline Awakening, a limited-time vampire theme layered over Erangel. The twist is what happens on elimination: instead of spectating, you come back as a vampire with new abilities — bat transformation, chains — and go after the players who eliminated you. Themed locations and PvE monsters are scattered across the map, and the mode has its own items: Twilight Bat Wings, Silvermoon Chain and Blood Pact among them.
From September 18 the mode adds faction battles, running Friday to Sunday each weekend: players pick the hunter or vampire side before the match and fight the other faction alongside the usual battle royale.
Elsewhere in 4.6: a new Inflatable Boat water vehicle for Classic mode, improved handling for 7.62 mm rifles and an attribute boost for the ACE32, a Mid-Autumn Festival mini-event with puzzles and photo tasks, and a Trick-or-Treat activity where collected pumpkin candy boxes convert into free Halloween-themed rewards. Ocean Odyssey, the sea-themed mode from last year, returns for a limited run in October.
What it means for players
The faction weekends are the reason to log in now rather than later: the hunter/vampire split is only on from Friday to Sunday, so weekday sessions get the base Bloodline Awakening map without sides. The mode is separate from ranked Classic, so it does not touch your tier.
The weapon changes do carry into ranked. The ACE32 was already a common pick on Erangel; with better 7.62 handling across the board, expect the AKM and Beryl to feel less punishing on recoil too. The inflatable boat is a cheap way across water on Erangel and Sanhok without a PG-117.
What happens next
Faction battles repeat every weekend for the length of the 4.6 cycle; the update itself runs until version 4.7 in November. Ocean Odyssey has a stated October window without a day. PUBG Mobile has also teased "multiple mystery IP collaborations" for this version without naming them.
