The Witcher 3 Remastered Arrives as a Free Upgrade
CD Projekt Red's remaster of The Witcher 3 lands on September 29, and the studio announced it as a free upgrade for everyone who already owns the game
Two WhatsApp changes landed this week. On September 21 reactions on Apple Watch stopped being limited to six emoji: the watch app now carries the full picker in eight categories with recents on top. And since September 17 a search button has been rolling out inside iPhone conversations, so finding an old message no longer means opening the chat info screen first.
Apple Watch reactions, spotted on September 21. Until now the watch app offered six emoji to react with. The update replaces that with the full library, sorted into eight categories — Smileys, Nature, Food, Activity, Travel, Objects, Symbols and Flags — and puts recently used emoji at the top. WhatsApp arrived on Apple Watch in November 2025, and reactions were one of the clearest gaps in that first version.
In-chat search on iPhone, rolling out since September 17. After several weeks in beta, a search button is appearing inside conversations. Scroll up in a chat and it appears under the navigation bar; one tap opens search inside that conversation. The old route was three steps — tap the contact or group name, choose search on the info screen, then get returned to the chat to type.
Both are server-side rollouts tied to recent app versions, so they appear at different times for different accounts.
The search button is the one that changes daily use. Group chats accumulate hundreds of messages a week, and the address, the tracking number or the time someone agreed to meet is always "somewhere above" — three taps to two, at the moment you need it, is the kind of change that gets noticed.
The watch change is narrower but removes a real annoyance: a reaction from six preset emoji is often the wrong one, and typing on a watch is not the alternative anyone wants. It also closes one of the gaps left by the first watch app, which shipped in November 2025 with sending, replies and voice notes but a fixed reaction row.
Neither change touches encryption or what is stored: search runs on the messages already on the device, which is why it finds nothing older than your local history.
Both features are rolling out gradually rather than switching on for everyone at once. Updating to the latest App Store version is the only thing a user can do to speed it up; WhatsApp has not said when the rollout completes or whether the in-chat search button comes to Android in the same form.
Yes, after this update. The watch app previously allowed six preset emoji; it now opens the full picker sorted into eight categories — Smileys, Nature, Food, Activity, Travel, Objects, Symbols and Flags — with recently used emoji at the top.
Scroll up in the conversation and a search button appears below the navigation bar; one tap opens search within that chat. Previously you had to tap the contact or group name, choose search on the info screen, then type your query.
