About BetterMe

BetterMe Well-Being Coach is a home-fitness and habit app that turns an onboarding quiz into a daily plan of workouts, meal ideas and check-ins. Its library holds 4,000+ workouts, from Wall Pilates and calisthenics to chair yoga, plus a photo food log and a fasting timer. The download is free, but the plan sits behind a weekly, 4-week, 12-week or annual subscription, and coaching and challenges cost extra.

BetterMe Review: A Deep Home-Workout Library, Sold as a Subscription

My Plan: a long quiz, a daily checklist and 4,000+ workouts

The download is free, but the first thing you meet is an extensive quiz: goals, height and weight, activity level, sleep schedule, mobility limits and diet type, according to independent hands-on reviews. The answers fill a My Plan tab with a daily checklist: a Pilates session, Snap Your Meal, measurements, active calories, water and a step goal. Workout cards show minutes and a calorie estimate before you start, such as 10 Min and 43 Cal in the store art, and the player counts each exercise down with Prev and Next buttons. The library leans on Pilates, Wall Pilates, calisthenics, chair yoga and tai chi, and it filters by type only: yoga, sofa yoga, wall Pilates, Pilates and busy mom. One published review reports three sessions of about 20 minutes on day one.

Snap Your Meal, a fasting timer and cycle-aware workouts

Food logging has two routes: photograph the plate in Snap Your Meal, or search a food database. Recipe pages in the meal plans list calories, protein, fat and carbs plus cooking time; the store art shows 404 Cal, 18 g protein and 10 minutes for a Mediterranean quinoa salad. The plans cover eight diet types, including keto, vegan and Mediterranean, but a 2025 hands-on review listed them as a paid extra. A fasting tracker offers interval plans with a timer and weekly stats, and the period tracker marks follicular, luteal and ovulatory phases to adjust workout suggestions. Steps, distance, weight and dietary energy can be read from Apple Health or Health Connect. The developer states the app is not a medical device and advises consulting a professional before starting a diet, fasting or exercise program.

$6.99 to $41.99 on the App Store, with add-ons on top

The US App Store lists ten in-app items from $6.99 to $41.99, among them a $9.99 weekly item and annual plans at $19.99 and $29.99; Google Play shows items from $0.99 to $179.99. Prices are regional and can change. Official terms say plans renew every week, 4 weeks, 12 weeks or year, that a trial exists only if the price screen states one, that discounted offers renew at full price, and that first-period and renewal prices appear before you pay. Each plan is separate, so canceling one does not cancel another. Store text calls personalized coaching a separate paid feature, and independent reviews also describe challenges, meal plans and coach chat as extras.

Pros

  • Library of 4,000+ home workouts, from Wall Pilates to chair yoga
  • Workout cards show minutes and a calorie estimate before you start
  • Photo food log, fasting timer and cycle tracking live in the same app
  • Reads steps and weight from Apple Health or Health Connect
  • Terms list cancellation steps for web, App Store, Google Play and Huawei purchases
  • Includes sessions for wheelchair users, seniors and pre- and postnatal stages

Cons

  • Plan sits behind a weekly, 4-week, 12-week or annual auto-renewing subscription
  • Personalized coaching is a separate paid feature, and reviews describe challenges and meal plans as extras
  • Strength variety is thin: mostly Pilates and bodyweight, with few dumbbell workouts
  • Some recent Google Play reviews describe crashes or slow loading on versions 11.33 to 12.1

Verdict

The score rewards a deep home-workout library, a daily My Plan checklist and food, fasting and cycle tools in one place. It loses points for subscription-only access, paid add-ons, prices that differ by channel and thin strength variety. Take it if you want guided Pilates or bodyweight sessions at home and have read the price screen first. Skip it if you want a fully free tracker, where MyFitnessPal fits, or heavy gym lifting, where Fitbod does. It is a workout and logging tool, not a promise of results or medical advice.

Core function7.54,000+ workouts, a photo food log, fasting and cycle tracking cover the basics, though strength variety is thin.
Ease of use7.5The quiz feeds a daily My Plan checklist and a timer-led player, but the library filters only by workout type.
Monetisation5.0Auto-renewing weekly to annual plans, a trial only when shown, and coaching, challenges and meal plans cost extra.
Performance6.5A 257 MB Android install, and a few recent Play reviews describe crashes or slow loading.
Privacy & permissions6.0App Store label links health data to you and tracks purchases, identifiers and usage; policy asks users to be 18+.

Frequently asked questions

1

Is BetterMe free to use?

The app is free to download, but the plan behind the quiz is sold as a subscription. Official terms say a trial exists only when the price screen states one, and independent reviews describe a 7-day trial on the App Store plan. We could not confirm which content stays open without paying, so read the price screen before entering card details.

2

Can BetterMe log calories from a photo?

Yes. The daily plan includes a Snap Your Meal task, and the store listing says a meal photo returns a nutritional breakdown. You can also search a food database, and recipes in the meal plans show calories, protein, fat and carbs. The developer does not publish how accurate photo estimates are, so treat the numbers as approximations, not medical advice.

3

How much does BetterMe cost?

On the US App Store, ten in-app items run from $6.99 to $41.99, including a $9.99 weekly item and annual plans at $19.99 and $29.99; Google Play lists items from $0.99 to $179.99. Prices are regional and can change. The price screen shows the first-period and renewal prices, and the store text lists personalized coaching as a separate paid feature.

4

How do I cancel BetterMe?

Turn off auto-renewal where you bought it. For App Store or Google Play purchases, cancel in Apple ID or Google Play settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. For web purchases, open More, My Profile, Manage Subscription in the app. Deleting the app does not cancel. Store refunds go through Apple or Google; the web money-back option needs a request within 30 days and 7 completed sessions.

5

What are good alternatives to BetterMe?

Freeletics sells bodyweight training with terms starting at $34.99 on the US App Store. Zing AI builds daily home and gym sessions from about 500 exercises. MyFitnessPal is the pick if you only want calorie logging, with Premium up to $19.99 a month. Choose BetterMe when you want Pilates-led home workouts, food logging and fasting in one app.
