Zing is an AI personal trainer that builds a daily strength, HIIT or recovery session from about 500 exercises, then reshapes the plan around your energy, sleep and progress. A chat coach with four personalities edits workouts on request, and Les Mills classes joined the library in 2026. The catch is the paywall: the download is free, but the full plan needs a Premium subscription that renews automatically.

Each day opens with a workout card sized to your profile, such as 25 minutes of chest and biceps in the gym, with warm-up and cool-down toggles that add about 3 and 4 minutes. Sessions can start at 7 minutes, and the library of roughly 500 exercises comes with audio and video demonstrations. Zing tracks muscle fatigue, so a trained muscle gets time to recover before it is hit again. A Custom Workout builder, swap icons on each exercise row and an Adapt Workout screen let you change sets, reps and weights before you start. The weak spot is logging: a developer reply to an August 2026 Google Play review conceded that home routines cannot record lifted weights, and that a day's plan can swap when recovery data changes.
Zing Vision lays a movement skeleton over the camera feed, but only during the Fitness Test, the Flexibility Test and the Body Scan. A developer reply on Google Play says motion tracking is available for those assessments only, and reviewers on both stores say the overlay disappears once regular workouts begin. The privacy policy says the skeleton is drawn on the phone and that only the marked points, never the video, are sent to servers afterwards. AI Body Scan estimates body fat and lean mass from photos you upload. Those photos are deleted right after the report is generated, unless you consent to keeping them for up to one month. The report is a separate purchase, and one reviewer found poor lighting spoiled the result.
The download is free, but the full plan sits behind Zing Premium. The App Store lists Premium at $18.99, $29.99, $39.99 and $59.99, a 3-month pass at $29.99 and a Body Scan Report at $19.99; Google Play shows in-app items from $18.99 to $99.99. The developer also describes Nutrition and Supplement Guides as paid add-ons. These are US prices and vary by region. The terms allow a free or small paid trial that converts to a full plan, renewing weekly, monthly or every 3 months until cancelled. Deleting the app does not cancel it, renewal charges are not refundable, and a body report can be refunded within 48 hours. The terms also set a minimum age of 18, although the App Store rates the app 9+.

The score rewards adaptive plans, a large exercise library with demonstrations and Les Mills classes, and docks it for camera tracking confined to assessments, paid add-ons and trial-to-renewal terms that catch people out. Take it if you want a plan written for you, at home or in the gym, and will cancel before the trial ends. Skip it if you expect live form correction during sets, want a one-time price, or need to log home weights.

The download is free, but the full workout plan needs Zing Premium. The developer points new users to a low-cost trial, and its terms say a trial converts to a full-price plan unless you cancel first. One reviewer reports hitting the paywall after a day. Body Scan, Nutrition and Supplement Guides are separate paid add-ons.
Only during assessments. Zing Vision tracks your movement in the Fitness Test, the Flexibility Test and the Body Scan, and the developer says motion tracking is not available in regular workouts, where video and audio demonstrations guide you. The skeleton is drawn on the phone, and only the marked points, not the video, go to servers.
The App Store lists Zing Premium at $18.99, $29.99, $39.99 and $59.99, plus a 3-month pass at $29.99; Google Play lists items from $18.99 to $99.99. A Body Scan Report is $19.99 extra. The listings do not label each tier's length, so read the paywall. Prices are US, vary by region and may change.
Cancel where you subscribed: Apple ID settings, Google Play subscriptions, or Manage Subscription in the app settings. Deleting the app does not cancel the plan, and cancelling at least 24 hours before renewal avoids the next charge. Renewal charges are not refundable under the refund policy; store purchases follow Apple or Google refund rules, and a body composition report can be refunded within 48 hours.
They do different jobs. Zing writes the workout for you. Strava records sessions you plan yourself, with routes and leaderboards in a $79.99-a-year subscription, and the Planet Fitness app mainly serves gym members with check-ins and machine QR guides. For food logging rather than training plans, MyFitnessPal is the closer match.
