MLB's free ticket wallet works at all 30 ballparks, and for many fans it is the only way in: the Angels call it the sole valid entry method for digital tickets, and barcodes rotate so screenshots fail. It also forwards tickets, hands resale to SeatGeek, maps the stadium and, at 10 clubs, runs Go-Ahead Entry by face scan. The catch: sign-in needs a verified email plus a code, and seven clubs route you through Ticketmaster.
Specs come from the official store listings and were last checked on 2026-10-01. Developers change pricing and requirements — check the store page before installing.
Every MLB ballpark supports the app's digital tickets in 2026, but the plumbing differs. At most clubs, tickets land in the Wallet section once you verify the purchase email, and seats from several teams share one login. Seven clubs, including the Yankees, Braves and Blue Jays, ticket through Ticketmaster: the Tickets tab opens a Ticketmaster portal whose login lapses after 30 days, switching between two such clubs means logging out, and accepted transfers can take five minutes to appear. Barcodes refresh every few seconds, so the Angels and Royals refuse screenshots and print-at-home tickets. Apple Wallet works only at select clubs.
Go-Ahead Entry, built with Japan's NEC and piloted by the Phillies in 2023, lets enrolled fans walk through a dedicated lane while a camera matches their face and validates every ticket on the account. MLB lists 10 clubs, from the Dodgers to the Nationals. Enrollment takes one selfie and is limited to adults; children pass only with a parent or guardian. Your whole group is scanned, so a guest who objects needs a forwarded ticket and a standard gate. MLB says footage is deleted shortly after capture, but a numerical token stays tied to your account. Hats, glasses and face masks should not block a match, though you still open the ticket in the app to reach your seat.
Forwarding goes by email, contacts or a share link, and MLB's help page warns that anyone holding that link can claim the ticket. The original buyer can recall a forwarded ticket until it is scanned, even after the recipient passes it on, though some tickets cannot be forwarded. Resale happens outside the app: SeatGeek, MLB's exclusive fan-to-fan marketplace, needs its own account and keeps a 10% seller fee, sending payment within 48 hours after the game. Listed tickets stay locked until you delist them. The app is free, with ads and no in-app purchases; SeatGeek's fee can change.
For 2026, MLB added multi-factor sign-in: the first login verifies your email with a 6-digit code and enrolls a mobile number by text, later logins let you pick email or SMS for the code, and the app asks you to sign in again about every 60 days. Changing that phone number happens in MLB Account Settings on mlb.com. The friction shows: of the 150 newest English Google Play reviews, posted September 14 to October 1, 2026, 105 gave one star, and 37 of those describe trouble signing in or verifying. App support phones stay closed on weekends.

We scored it 6.5. It works at every MLB ballpark, lets the buyer recall forwarded tickets until they scan, and offers optional face-scan entry at 10 clubs. Sign-in that many reviewers say loops, a Ticketmaster detour at seven clubs, weekday-only phone help and broad tracking permissions pull it down. Install it if your club sends tickets here; you likely have no choice. It is a poor fit for fans who want paper backups or weekend phone support, since the box office is the main fallback.

In most cases, yes. SeatGeek, MLB's resale partner, calls it the official app for entry, the Angels name it the only valid method for digital tickets, and barcodes rotate, so screenshots fail. The app is free with ads but requires a free MLB account with a verified email. If tickets will not load, the club box office can help.
You enroll once with a selfie in the app, then walk through a dedicated lane where a camera matches your face and validates every ticket on your account. It is open to adults at 10 participating clubs, including the Phillies, Dodgers and Giants. If the match fails, staff scan your phone instead; you can unenroll from your profile.
Listing costs nothing, but resale runs through SeatGeek, whose MLB help page says it keeps 10% of your asking price and pays by direct deposit within 48 hours after the game. You need a separate SeatGeek account, and listed tickets stay locked. SeatGeek sets the fee, and it can change.
Partly. The Royals say tickets opened once stay viewable with weak signal, and MLB suggests Apple Wallet, offered at select clubs, for offline access; the Athletics' NFC gates also read Google Wallet. Load tickets before reaching the gate. Closing your MLB account in the app permanently deletes tickets and purchase history.
It can. Apple's privacy label lists location and contacts among eight data types that may be used to track you and warns of location use while the app is closed; Google Play's data-safety section declares no location collection. MLB's privacy policy, updated July 6, 2026, lists location data as sold or shared with advertising vendors but says precise geolocation is not.
