About Realtor.com Real Estate & Rent

Realtor.com's app searches US homes for sale and rent drawn, by the company's account, from direct feeds of more than 800 MLSs refreshed every 15 minutes, and since September 2026 it also shows Zillow's pre-market Preview listings. Listing cards carry a Contact agent button that feeds Realtor.com's paid lead products. The catch is stability: after the summer 2026 redesign, 83 of the 199 newest Google Play reviews give one or two stars.

Realtor.com App Review: 15-Minute MLS Feeds, Shaky 2026 Redesign

800+ MLS feeds, 15-minute updates and Zillow Preview listings

Realtor.com tells advertisers it holds direct connections to more than 800 multiple listing services and refreshes property data every 15 minutes. Since September 17, 2026, search also includes Zillow Preview listings: homes marketed before they reach the MLS, labeled as Preview. Zillow says more than 400 brokerages are enrolled and that Preview homes draw 18% more views in their first 14 days. App Store reviewers in August 2026, though, describe saved homes shown as active until opened, then revealed as sold, and the developer told Play users it was fixing the Hide Pending/Contingent filter in Saved Listings.

Contact agent: Connections Plus, Concierge and a 4-second callback

The privacy notice names Contact Agent and Request Tour among the forms whose details Move collects, and Move's terms explain where they go: agents buy lead generation products by subscription, while referral services bill agents when a deal closes. Connections Plus, the subscription product, delivers leads from shoppers acting on listings in an agent's market and answers them with automatic email and SMS. ReadyConnect Concierge, the referral service, has Realtor.com reps call shoppers, on average within 4 seconds of an inquiry, ask about budget, timeframe and pre-approval, then live-transfer the call to the first agent who claims it. Neither route promises you the listing agent; only on Preview listings does the buyer pick between the listing agent and a buyer's agent.

Rental Beast's $36 to $49 application and My Home's RealValue tools

Searching, alerts and calculators cost nothing, and Google Play lists no in-app purchases. Renters meet the first real price: for MLS rentals, Apply Now hands you to Rental Beast's site, where each applicant pays a non-refundable processing fee of $36 to $49, shown before submitting; fees may change. It covers credit, eviction and criminal checks with a soft credit pull, and one application can be reused for 30 days. Owners get the My Home dashboard, whose RealValue tools track an estimated home value, project sale proceeds, compare similar homes and estimate Airbnb income. Listings also show an estimated monthly payment beside Get pre-approved, yet Move's terms say it takes no loan applications; lenders pay to reach shoppers who inquire.

Credit score, NAR and News Corp in the privacy disclosures

Google Play's Data safety form lists name, email, phone number, address, approximate location and device IDs as shared partly for advertising or marketing, plus an optional credit score shared for app functionality and advertising. Apple's label says location, search history, identifiers and usage data may be used to track you across other companies' apps. The privacy notice, last modified July 30, 2026, adds three points: Move may share data with the National Association of REALTORS, which may contact you; News Corp affiliates may use it for their own marketing; and Amplitude records clicks and mouse movement. Move also obtains demographic data such as household income range from outside sources. Data is encrypted in transit, deletion can be requested, and precise location, optional in the Play form, is listed for app functionality only.

Verdict

We score the app 6.7. Direct MLS feeds, Zillow Preview listings, FlyAround and natural-language search make it a strong second search window; the summer 2026 redesign's sort and map bugs, and lead routing behind the Contact agent button, pull the score down. Take it if you house-hunt in the US and want a second MLS-fed view beside Zillow. Skip it if you want to reach only the listing agent, or if sharing a credit score for advertising bothers you.

Frequently asked questions

1

Is the Realtor.com app free?

Yes. Search, saved-search alerts, map layers and calculators are free, and Google Play lists no in-app purchases. The app shows ads, and Move's terms say it earns money by selling lead products to agents and charging referral fees when deals close. MLS rental applications through Rental Beast carry a separate fee.

2

Who gets my information when I tap Contact agent on Realtor.com?

Not necessarily the listing agent. Subscribers to Connections Plus receive leads from listings in their market, and ReadyConnect Concierge reps call you, on average within 4 seconds, then live-transfer you to the agent who claims the lead first. On Preview listings you choose between the listing agent and a buyer's agent.

3

How much does it cost to apply for a rental on Realtor.com?

For MLS rentals that use Rental Beast's Apply Now, each applicant pays a non-refundable processing fee of $36 to $49, shown before you submit; fees can change. It covers credit, eviction and criminal checks, the credit pull is soft, and the same application can be reused for 30 days.

4

How do I delete my Realtor.com account and stop marketing texts?

On realtor.com, open Settings, choose Edit Profile, then Delete My Account and confirm. Marketing texts stop when you reply STOP to 22445 or email Privacy@Move.com, though alert and inquiry texts may continue. Google Play's Data safety form also says you can request deletion of your data.

5

What are the best alternatives to the Realtor.com app?

Zillow, Redfin and Homes.com are the closest picks. Zillow has the Zestimate and the same Preview listings, with ads. Redfin, now part of Rocket Companies, says half of the MLS updates it receives post within two minutes. Homes.com promises direct access to the listing agent's contact details.
