About Shop: Track, Pay, Discover

Shop is Shopify's app for the buyer's side of every store built on its platform: it tracks parcels from any of them in one list, remembers payment and address details for one-tap checkout, and turns the brands you have bought from into a feed. It costs nothing, carries no advertising badge and has no in-app purchases — the merchants pay Shopify instead.

Shop Review: Every Parcel in One List, No Ads

Order Tracking Across Carriers and Shops

The orders tab lists everything on its way with a progress bar and a real delivery window — arrives today between three and four, delivery tomorrow, in transit — pulled from the merchant and the carrier rather than from a copied tracking number. Orders from different shops and couriers sit in the same list, and anything the carrier fails to mark can be closed manually with a Mark order as delivered button. For anyone who buys from small online shops, this replaces a folder of confirmation emails.

Following Turns Shops Into a Feed

Brands you buy from can be followed, and their new products appear as posts with prices attached — the store screenshots show a candle at $34 and clogs at $225.93 alongside a rating and review count for the shop. Deals and a Minis tab sit beside it. It is closer to a shopping feed than to a marketplace, because every item links back to the merchant's own checkout rather than to a Shopify-owned listing. A saved tab keeps wish-listed products in named collections, and an assistant answers a plain-language request — new pieces to wear in the autumn — with products and reasoning attached.

Free, With No Advertising and Six Data Categories

There are no in-app purchases, no subscription and no Contains ads badge — unusual for a shopping app, and explained by the business model: Shopify earns from merchants, and Shop Pay makes their checkouts faster. Google Play lists six collected categories with personal information shared with third parties. The App Store rating is 4.8 across 7.1 million ratings, against 4.4 on Google Play, and the install is among the lightest in this category. There is also no seller side to the app: it exists purely for buyers, which is why the interface stays as simple as it does.

Verdict

Quietly one of the most useful free apps here if you buy from independent online shops: parcels from many merchants in one list with real delivery windows, and a checkout that remembers everything. It sells nothing and shows no advertising. The limit is structural — it only sees Shopify stores, so anyone who shops mainly on marketplaces will open it once and forget it.

Frequently asked questions

1

Is the Shop app free?

Completely. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase and no advertising badge on the Play listing. Shopify makes its money from the merchants using its platform, so the buyer-facing app has nothing to sell you beyond the shops themselves.

2

How does order tracking work?

Orders placed with Shopify merchants appear automatically once the email address matches, with a progress bar and a delivery window drawn from the carrier. Parcels from several shops and couriers sit in one list, and anything the carrier misses can be marked delivered by hand.

3

What is Shop Pay?

Saved payment and shipping details that carry across every Shopify store, so checkout is a single confirmation rather than a form. It costs nothing to use and is the reason many people install the app in the first place, since the same details work on thousands of independent shops.

4

Does it work for orders from Amazon or eBay?

No. The app only sees orders from merchants running on Shopify, which covers a large share of independent online shops but none of the big marketplaces. If most of your buying happens on Amazon, this app has very little to show you.

5

What are the alternatives?

A carrier's own app tracks its own parcels and nothing else. Email search works for everything and takes longer. This one is the choice for people who buy regularly from small independent shops, which is exactly the audience Shopify serves.
