About Hitman: Absolution

Hitman: Absolution on mobile is Feral Interactive's port of IO's 2012 stealth game — Agent 47 hunted by his own Agency across 20 missions, with Instinct mode, disguises, Point Shooting and, since May 2026, the online Contracts mode for player-made assignments — $14.99 outright on iOS since October 16, 2025 and Android since November, with no ads and no purchases. It rates 4.9 on the App Store and 4.6 on Google Play, at 60 frames on supported phones. The caveats: an iOS 18 and A12 floor, an Android chipset list, and bodies that fall through floors.

Hitman: Absolution Mobile Review: 47's Divisive Chapter, Ported Like It Matters

Twenty Missions, Instinct, Disguises and the Contracts Sandbox

The game is the 2012 one, whole: 47 betrayed by the Agency and on the run, stalking targets through Chinatown, a courthouse, a cornfield and a hotel across 20 missions that reward patience or violence equally — blend in with a disguise, garrotte in silence, or let the silverballers talk. Instinct mode highlights targets, predicts patrols and marks points of interest; Point Shooting queues headshots in slow motion. The May 14, 2026 update added Contracts, the series' sandbox — pick targets and conditions in any level, publish the contract, and play other agents' creations online. An October 26, 2025 App Store five-star who finished it seven times on PS4 says it plays just like it; an October 16 review calls every mission cinematic; an October 18 five-star sets the series' consensus — never as good as the reboot trilogy, levels too cramped and linear, and better suited to mobile for exactly that reason.

Sixty Frames on a Supported Chipset, Bodies Through the Floor, Battery Gone

The most-voted Play review, a November 7, 2025 five-star with 236 votes, runs max settings at 60 frames on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with no drops or overheating and calls the graphics almost console-grade; the second, with 180 votes, adds light clipping, fast battery drain, and a lock-up in the Shaving Lenny mission that Feral patched the day after being contacted. A November 5 review reports occasional crashes at mission transitions on Android. The one bug that recurs across both stores is stealth-breaking: an October 31 App Store five-star and an October 23 four-star on an iPad Mini 5 both see subdued NPCs fall through the floor or vanish when garrotted, which ruins silent-assassin scores and forces restarts. An August 24, 2026 three-star wants a punch button available without a weapon drawn, as in Blood Money.

$14.99 Once, No Ads, No Purchases — iOS 18 With an A12, or a Listed Android Chip

The price is $14.99 on both stores, paid once, with no advertising and no in-app purchases; Google Play's $0.99 to $9.99 item range is a listing artefact Feral's titles share. On iPhone it needs iOS 18 and an A12 Bionic or later — iPhone XS and newer — with 2.17 GB; on Android, a chipset from Feral's supported list, which is why the Play page says requirements vary with device and why the top reviewer mentions their Snapdragon by name. Nine languages. Google's data-safety card lists personal info, app activity and two other types collected; Apple lists no tracking. Rated 16+ by Apple and Mature 17+ by Google. Play shows 50,000-plus installs and 6,020 reviews at 4.6; the App Store 782 ratings at 4.9. Prices are regional.

Pros

  • The full 2012 game — 20 missions, Instinct, disguises, Point Shooting
  • Contracts mode since May 2026: make and share assassinations online
  • Max settings at 60 frames on a supported chipset, per the 236-vote review
  • $14.99 once, no ads, no purchases, gamepad and keyboard-and-mouse support
  • A porting studio that patched a mission lock-up the day after a report

Cons

  • Subdued bodies fall through floors, breaking stealth scores, on iPhone and iPad
  • iOS 18 with an A12 or newer, and a chipset whitelist on Android
  • Battery drain, clipping and occasional crashes at mission transitions
  • The original's cramped, linear levels — the reboot trilogy's are better

Verdict

A 7.9: the odd one out in the Hitman series, ported with enough care that its critics' complaints are the original's — cramped levels, a linear story — and the port's one real bug is bodies falling through the floor. Take it if your phone is on the list and you want a full, ad-free stealth campaign plus Contracts for $14.99. Skip it if you have an iPhone older than the XS or an unlisted Android chip, or if you want the trilogy's open levels — those are on PC and console only.

Gameplay8Disguise, distract, deceive across 20 missions, now with player-made Contracts; linear by the series' standard.
Controls7Customisable touch that reviewers call smooth, a pad that makes it console; a punch button that hides.
Replay value7Silent Assassin ratings, challenges and an endless Contracts sandbox, once the vanishing-body bug stops costing runs.
Graphics & sound8Almost console-grade at 60 frames on the right phone; the 2012 lighting holds up better than most.
Monetisation9Buy once, own it, nothing else — the way Feral has always done it.

Frequently asked questions

1

Can you play Hitman: Absolution offline?

The campaign, yes — all 20 missions are single-player and Feral's ports run without a connection once installed. Contracts mode, added in May 2026, is online: publishing and downloading player-made assignments needs a connection. Download the 2.17 GB build on Wi-Fi.

2

Is Hitman: Absolution free on mobile?

No. It is $14.99 on the App Store and Google Play, paid once, with no ads, no in-app purchases and no unlocks — the Contracts mode update was free. Google Play's listed item range of $0.99 to $9.99 is a store artefact; there is nothing to buy in the game. Prices vary by region.

3

What phone do you need for Hitman: Absolution?

On iPhone, iOS 18 and an A12 Bionic chip or newer — iPhone XS onward — with 2.17 GB free; iPads from the same generation work, and a reviewer runs it on an iPad Mini 5 with minor bugs. On Android, the requirements vary by device: Feral maintains a supported-chipset list, and the top reviewer's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 runs max settings at 60 frames.

4

Can you play Hitman: Absolution with friends?

Not together, but against each other: Contracts mode lets you build an assassination — targets, weapons, disguises, conditions — in any level, share it, and compete on friends' contracts for score. The campaign itself is single-player, as it was on console and PC.

5

How long is Hitman: Absolution?

Roughly 12 to 15 hours for the 20-mission story on a normal difficulty, and far more for Silent Assassin ratings, challenges and the harder settings — an October 2025 reviewer had finished it seven times on PS4. Contracts mode has no end, and a December 2025 review counts the hours per dollar as the best reason to buy.
