Warframe on mobile is the whole 2013 game — 57-plus biomechanical suits, parkour, co-op missions across a solar system, open worlds and a decade of story — with cross-save and cross-play to PC and consoles, free, on iOS since February 2024 and Android since early 2026. Warframe Mobile Review: The Whole Game on a Phone, Cross-Save Included

Fifty-Seven Warframes, Squads of Four, One Account Everywhere

Digital Extremes did not make a mobile version; it made the same game run on phones. You choose a Warframe — Excalibur, Mag and Volt at the start, over 57 to earn or buy later, each with four abilities — and run missions of parkour and gunplay across the Origin System, alone or in a squad of four, from ground missions to Railjack ship battles and open-world landscapes. The story is the long draw; Update 43.5, Amir's Shockwave, arrived on iOS on August 12, 2026 with a remixed Nightwave and a new chapter for The Hex. Cross Platform Save carries progress between phone, PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch — a September 4 Play reviewer with 12 years on PC and Xbox calls it the same game with touch controls, controller support, cross-save and cross-play, running flawlessly on a Samsung Galaxy A56. Rated 18+ and Mature 17+, in English on the App Store.

The Two Most-Voted Reviews Disagree About the Thumbs

Google Play's Android release in early 2026 produced two reviews with over 75 votes each, and they are the whole argument. A February 27 five-star with 81 votes finds the controls not so bad, easy to get used to, and the game phenomenal for being playable and smooth enough to follow, while admitting multitasking in bounties is hard on touch. A February 20 three-star with 75 votes is astonished the game fits into a 14 GB app and finds the controls hard from combat to menus, public lobbies too fast for a phone player, and ends up playing solo rather than dragging a squad. A May 2025 iPad Pro M4 owner on a PS5 controller finds it smoother than a PS4 with a 60 fps cap. Grinding is tedious, per a July 2025 four-star. Ratings: 4.9 from 26,183 on the App Store, 4.1 from 30,500 on Play with a million installs.

Free to Play, Platinum for Sale, and a Trading Economy Underneath

Warframe's model is the one its players defend: everything but cosmetics can be earned, Platinum — the premium currency — can be traded between players for items, and a July 2025 App Store reviewer stresses that it is free for real. The store still sells plenty: Platinum at $4.99 for 75, $9.99 for 175, $19.99 for 380 and $49.99 for 1,025, Regal Aya for Prime Resurgence at $19.99, $39.99 and $79.99 and a Starter Weapon Pack at $4.99; Google Play lists items to $199.99. Neither store shows an advertising badge or a loot-box flag. Apple's tracking list is Identifiers linked to you; Google's data-safety card lists Personal info, Financial info and four other types collected. The install is 3.96 GB on the App Store and grows to about 14 GB, on iOS 14 with an A12 Bionic or later — iPhone XS and up — or Android 12 or newer. Prices are regional.

A 7.8: a triple-A free game that genuinely runs on a phone with your PC account intact — the reviews' word is astonishment — held back only by touch controls that half its players adapt to and half do not. Take it if you already play Warframe anywhere, or want the deepest free action game on the stores and own a controller. Skip it if you have 14 GB to spare but no pad and no patience for a grind that its own fans call tedious.
