Best Trivia and Quiz Games on Mobile, Ranked
Sporcle wins at 7.0 on the strength of its archive: more than two million player-written quizzes in nine formats, with daily puzzles and streaks share
Sporcle's app puts the trivia site's archive of more than two million player-written quizzes on a phone: type-in lists, clickable grids, maps, picture boxes and slideshows, plus daily puzzles such as Acrostic and Quizzle. One free account keeps stats, badges, playlists and streaks in step with the website. The catch is the ad load, which Play reviewers say grew through 2026, and an in-app Orange price of $5.99 a month against $3.99 on the web.
Specs come from the official store listings and were last checked on 2026-10-01. Developers change pricing and requirements — check the store page before installing.
Quizzes are written by players, and each runs against a clock its creator sets. The help center lists nine formats: Classic type-in lists, Clickable, Grid, Map, Multiple Choice, Order, Picture Box, Picture Click and Slideshow. Featured quizzes get a green check after staff review them for accuracy, and new Daily Dose quizzes drop at midnight Eastern. A free account carries scores, badges, playlists and streaks between the app and the website, and lets you publish 50 public quizzes a month, no more than three in an hour. The free tier stops at the daily games. The official membership page lists daily games, among them Acrostic, Quizzle, Steps and Chess Attack, as limited and ad-supported for free players, and keeps the full archive of past puzzles for Orange members.
Florins are the virtual currency, earned through site activity or bought in packs that run from $1.99 for 250 to $29.99 for 10,000 in the US App Store. Mid-quiz, a yellow question mark pauses the clock and offers four Quiz Helpers: Peekaboo shows the first letter of every answer, Inspector draws a dash for each character, Exterminator removes one wrong button on three- or four-option questions, and Trickster hands you an answer outright. The app also sells a Minefield Saver for Florins. Helpers are switched off in Challenges, Tournaments and Showdowns, so purchases cannot tilt head-to-head play. Streaks get two safety nets: Streak Savers loaded in advance, and a Restore button that, for 48 hours after a missed day, brings back a streak of four days or more for 500 Florins. Balances cannot move between accounts.
Orange drops ads and adds the daily-game archive, advanced stats and a 100-quiz monthly creation cap. The US App Store charges $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year; the official membership page charges $3.99 a month after a seven-day trial, or $43.99 a year, and promises no ads anywhere on the platform. A Family Plan for four accounts, $6.99 a month or $74.99 a year, is sold only on the website, and the help center tells App Store and Google Play subscribers to cancel and resubscribe there to switch. Prices are US figures and may change. Free players pay with time and data: the App Store privacy label lists a device ID used for third-party ad tracking, and Play reviews from June to September 2026 describe unskippable ads after quizzes, watch-an-ad unlocks that fail to load, and the Acrostic archive moving behind Orange; some paying members report repeated rate-the-app prompts.

The 7.0 rewards the archive and docks the delivery. Over two million player-written quizzes in nine formats, daily puzzles and streaks shared with the website earn high marks for gameplay and replay value; ads after quizzes, a glitchy keyboard and a $5.99 in-app Orange price pull the total down. Take it if you already play on the website and want your streak on the go, ideally with Orange bought on the web. Skip it if you need offline play, or pick GeoGuessr for ad-free geography rounds at $6.99 a month.

No, not in practice. The help center still lists offline play among the app's features, but App Store and Google Play reviewers from 2024 to 2026 report that the current app will not open or load quizzes without a connection; saving quizzes for a flight ended with the older app it replaced.
Yes, quizzes are free with ads. Orange removes them for $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year through the US App Store, or $3.99 monthly and $43.99 yearly on the website after a seven-day trial. Florin packs from $1.99 to $29.99 buy hints, but hints are blocked in Showdowns, Challenges and Tournaments. Prices vary by region and may change.
Android 10 or newer, or iOS and iPadOS 15 or later; the App Store also lists Apple Vision Pro on visionOS 1.0, and Google Play lists Windows PCs. The app is English-only. Google Play rates it Everyone 10+ for mild language and crude humor, the App Store rates it 9+, and the site's terms say it is not intended for children under 13.
Yes. The Find Opponent button starts a real-time Showdown against another player, Challenges send a quiz to friends or to email addresses, and Orange members can build multi-day tournaments with leaderboards. For turn-based duels on a six-category wheel, Trivia Crack fits better, though it sells answer packs up to $99.99.
Anything from a minute to a long session, because each creator sets the timer. Daily Dose quizzes keep to tight caps: a Quick Pick allows up to 1:30 and 20 answers, a Short Order 1:30 for four to eight items, and a Missing Word five minutes or less. Only quizzes finished with a score above zero count toward your play streak, and Practice mode plays do not.
