What was announced

Supercell ships Brawl Stars in two-season updates, and Update 69 is the Royal Academy and Brawl-O-Ween one, dated September to October 2026 in the game's own store listing. The listing was last refreshed on October 2, as the Brawl-O-Ween half came into rotation.

According to those official release notes, Update 69 brings two new brawlers: Cosmo, a magnetic robot scientist who pulls and pushes with gravity, and Vince, a barista who fires caterpillars and coffee. It also adds Mega Boss Duo, a twenty-player mode, and a Duolingo collaboration tied to the back-to-school Royal Academy season.

The Brawl-O-Ween half is built around a mystery to solve, with Gus' balloon as a companion that comes with it. Brawl Pass Season 55 is the Brawl-O-Ween pass; Season 54 was Royal Academy.

What it means for players

The pass is the part worth watching. Brawl Stars sells progression in seasons, and a season change resets what the free track and the paid track hand out, so the rewards you were working toward in Royal Academy are gone and a new ladder starts. If you bought the Season 54 pass and did not finish it, finishing it is no longer possible.

The two brawlers are not seasonal. Cosmo and Vince stay in the roster after Brawl-O-Ween ends, and they can be unlocked through the normal progression rather than only through the pass.

Mega Boss Duo is the one to try first if you mostly play with a friend — twenty players is a long way from the usual 3v3, and it is a limited-time mode in the way these events usually are.

What happens next

Update 69's own window closes at the end of October, which is when a season change normally lands and the next update is announced. Supercell publishes release notes for each update on its Brawl Stars blog, and the in-game News tab carries the season dates.

Frequently asked questions

1

Is the Brawl-O-Ween pass free?

There is a free track and a paid track. The free Brawl Pass line hands out rewards to everyone who plays, and the paid pass adds the rest of the ladder, including the season's skins.

2

Do Cosmo and Vince disappear after Brawl-O-Ween?

No. Both are permanent additions to the roster from Update 69, so they stay available after the season ends and can be unlocked through normal progression.
