EA Playdemic has tied Golf Clash to Bryson DeChambeau's Backyard Games, the ten-day contest that started on September 22 at the golfer's home and ends with a three-hole match for $100,000. The game gets a course modelled on that backyard, Front 9 and Back 9 tournaments on it, and themed rewards while the contest runs.
What was announced
DeChambeau's Backyard Games began on September 22: ten golfers, including the YouTube players Grant Horvat and George and Wesley Bryan, play one-hole matches across unconventional holes built around his property over ten days. The last one standing faces DeChambeau in a three-hole match for $100,000 — and he cannot keep the money: if he wins, he says it goes to one of his followers.
Golf Clash runs the mobile half. EA Playdemic has added a course based on DeChambeau's backyard, with Front 9 and Back 9 tournaments played on it and themed rewards attached, for the length of the contest.
What it means for players
Golf Clash's tournaments are its core loop, so a licensed course is the kind of event that changes where the active players are for a week rather than adding a side mode. Expect the themed rewards to be the usual mix of chests, balls and cosmetic items rather than anything that alters the shot mechanics.
The interesting part is the format matching. Backyard Games is built on one-hole matches — exactly how Golf Clash's own duels work — so the tie-in is closer to the game's structure than most celebrity partnerships, which usually stop at a portrait and a club skin.
Golf Clash itself stays free to download, and as of September 2026 nothing in the event is sold as a separate purchase — the tournaments use the game's existing entry fees in in-game currency.
