Capcom and TiMi Studio Group showed a new Monster Hunter Outlanders trailer at Tokyo Game Show on September 17, and the game now has a launch date: December 15, 2026, on iOS and Android, free to play. The [App Store listing](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/monster-hunter-outlanders/id6444520814) carries the same date as "Expected". Pre-registration passed five million players, unlocking the first reward tier.
What was announced
The trailer premiered in Capcom's Tokyo Game Show spotlight on September 17 and is playable at the Capcom booth through September 21. It is the first look at the open-world mobile Monster Hunter since the elder dragon Rugar Aidal was revealed at gamescom in August, and it puts a date on the release: December 15, 2026, Android and iOS.
The footage follows three hunters — the hammer-wielding protagonist, dual-blade user Haze and greatsword user Freya — against Rugar Aidal, whose crystalline body drops the material for a set of crystal weapons. Familiar monsters appear too: Great Girros, Rathalos and Azure Rathalos. Two traversal systems get their own sequences, a gliding challenge and wind platforms that launch the hunter across the map, and the trailer shows the radiant species and the Aesoland native Buddy companions.
Pre-registration, open since August 26 on the App Store and Google Play, has crossed five million, which unlocks five Standard Contracts and 5,000 Zenny for everyone at launch. The next tiers are the adventurer Raya at ten million, then Growth Concentrates at fifteen and Aqua Dews at twenty.
What it means for players
This is a full open-world Monster Hunter built for phones, not a port of Monster Hunter Now's location-based loop. TiMi, the studio behind Call of Duty: Mobile and Honor of Kings, is developing it under licence from Capcom, and the App Store listing is published by Proxima Beta, Tencent's overseas publishing arm. Expect the same model as TiMi's other titles: free download, gacha-style adventurer contracts, no upfront price.
December 15 is a Tuesday, ten days before Christmas, which puts the launch inside the holiday download window. Store dates for pre-order games have shifted before — TiMi itself called earlier placeholder dates on the listings unofficial — so treat the date as Capcom's current target rather than a lock until the studio confirms it on its own channels closer to launch.
What happens next
Pre-registration stays open until launch; every tier reached before December 15 is granted to all players. Capcom has not announced a further beta after the TGS demo. The next scheduled reveal point is the ten-million milestone, which adds the adventurer Raya to the launch rewards.
