About DLOOK: AI Outfit Stylist

DLOOK, the app formerly called Dressy, puts clothes from a screenshot, a brand search or your own closet onto a photo of you. Around that sit a digital closet with an OOTD calendar, seasonal color analysis and chat-based AI stylists, all from BlazeTech Limited in Hong Kong. The main limit is credits: every try-on spends them, free ones come from watching ads, and subscribers get a daily allowance rather than unlimited use.

DLOOK Review: Convincing Try-Ons, but Every One Spends Credits

Free credits, rewarded ads and the 1,000-credit daily allowance

Every try-on spends credits. Without paying, you top them up by watching ads, which the developer confirms in its replies on Google Play, and reviewers there say a subscription adds 1,000 credits a day, with a single try-on costing at least 15. The free allowance has shrunk more than once: one reviewer reported a cut from 100 free tries to 30 in late 2025, and a Portuguese-language reviewer saw daily creations fall from 20 to 5 in September 2026. Reviewers also say failed generations keep the credits and that some ads end without paying out. Oddly, the Play listing carries no Contains ads label, while Acloset and FitRoom, which also show ads, both display one.

Try It On: screenshot in, your photo out, body not always yours

Try It On pulls a garment from three places: a screenshot or product photo, a brand search in the Discover tab covering names such as Shein, Nike, Levi's and Farfetch, or an item already saved in your closet. An August 2026 update added video templates for results, and a September one added styled photo shoots. The privacy policy says try-on runs on BlazeTech's own servers with no third-party AI, and that face line maps are deleted once the image is generated. Play and App Store reviewers describe slimmer or heavier bodies, cropped heads, airbrushed freckles, the source model's body carried over and outfits that ignore the requested garment, plus a filter that refuses most swimwear and lingerie and sometimes flags ordinary photos.

$9.99 a week or $59.99 a year, and refunds go through the store

The US App Store lists a weekly plan at $9.99, yearly plans at $59.99 and $99.99, Styling Credits packs from $2.99 to $29.99 and a $5.99 new-user pack. Google Play does not show prices on the web, but Android reviewers in 2026 quote about $40 a year and $12 a week. Check the current price in the app; it varies by region. The bigger risk is that terms move: the most-upvoted negative review on Google Play, from April 2026, describes a yearly plan sold as unlimited try-ons that became 1,000 credits a day a month later, and in another reply the developer wrote that free usage rules may change. Refunds are left to Apple and Google. For the closet alone, Acloset is free up to 100 items and Whering's closet has no item limit, though its Outfit Maker needs a Style Pass.

Pros

  • Try-on accepts screenshots, brand searches and items from your own closet
  • Policy keeps try-on photos on the developer's servers, away from third-party AI
  • Free credits from watching ads mean no subscription is required
  • OOTD calendar logs what you wore each day next to saved outfits
  • AI Stylists with set personalities such as Business, Minimal and Sporty
  • 25 iPhone updates shipped between February and September 2026

Cons

  • Every try-on costs credits, and reviewers report free allowances cut twice since 2025
  • Reviewers say yearly unlimited plans became 1,000 credits a day in April 2026
  • Results can reshape bodies and faces, and swimwear or lingerie is often refused
  • Stylist chats go to OpenAI or Gemini; three ad SDKs and tracking identifiers run

Verdict

We score DLOOK 6.5: try-on takes a garment from almost anywhere, the closet logs outfits by day, and the policy keeps try-on photos away from third-party AI. Take it if you want to preview a specific piece before ordering it and don't mind watching ads for credits. Skip it if you want unlimited try-ons for a fixed fee, need results that keep your exact body shape, or would rather not have stylist chats sent to OpenAI or Google.

Core function7.5Try-on from screenshots, brands or your closet, plus video templates; reviewers still report altered bodies and ignored garments.
Ease of use7.0Five tabs keep it simple, but credit costs, ad pop-ups and shifting free limits are poorly explained.
Monetisation5.0$9.99 a week or credit packs, rewarded ads, and an unlimited yearly plan turned into 1,000 daily credits.
Performance6.525 iPhone updates in 2026, yet Play reviews cite crashes, failed generations without credit refunds and ads that never pay.
Privacy & permissions5.5Try-on stays in-house, but chats reach OpenAI or Gemini, three ad SDKs run, and Play's form omits photos.

Frequently asked questions

1

Is DLOOK free to use?

Only partly. The download is free, but every AI try-on spends credits, and free credits come from watching ads inside the app. Play reviewers report that the free allowance has been cut more than once, most recently from 20 daily creations to 5 in September 2026. A subscription or a Styling Credits pack removes the wait.

2

How does DLOOK color analysis work?

It places you in one of 12 color types grouped into four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter, and suggests clothing, makeup and hair shades. The privacy policy says that on iPhone skin, hair and eye values are measured on the device, but your photo is sent to OpenAI's GPT-4o to render previews of you in the recommended colors.

3

How much does DLOOK premium cost?

In the US App Store it is $9.99 a week, or $59.99 or $99.99 a year, with Styling Credits packs from $2.99 to $29.99. Subscribers lose the ads and, by reviewers' accounts, get 1,000 credits a day rather than unlimited try-ons. Prices vary by region, so check the current price in the app. Refunds go through Apple or Google, not BlazeTech.

4

Will I lose my DLOOK closet if I change phones?

Not if you sign in first. A June 2026 update added account sign-in that syncs your data across devices, after an earlier reviewer said a new phone could cost both the subscription and the closet. To cancel a plan, turn off auto-renewal in your store account at least 24 hours before the period ends; account deletion is linked from the footer of dlook.app.

5

Is DLOOK safe to upload my photos to?

Partly. Try-on photos stay on BlazeTech's servers, and face line maps are deleted after generation. AI Stylist chats and attached photos go to OpenAI or Google Gemini, Firebase, Adjust and Facebook SDKs run for advertising, and Apple's label lists tracking identifiers. The terms grant the company a sublicensable license to uploads and bar anyone under 18, though Google Play rates the app Everyone.
