Best Beauty Apps for Booking and Shopping, Ranked
Fresha is the best beauty app for booking: it costs the customer nothing, books from salons' live calendars, and shows off-peak discounts before you p
StyleSeat charges clients a $2.35 booking fee on every appointment, and a card is required to book independent stylists, barbers, braiders and nail techs straight into their calendars. The same download is also the pro's business app, with calendar, payments and a client marketplace. The catch is that much of the final price is set per pro: peak-hour surcharges, deposits, and late-cancel or no-show fees of up to 100% of the service.
Specs come from the official store listings and were last checked on 2026-10-01. Developers change pricing and requirements — check the store page before installing.
Booking is free only in name: each appointment carries a $2.35 booking fee. The fee is refunded only when the pro cancels outside their policy window; cancel yourself and it is gone, although a reschedule made through the app adds no second fee. Book within 48 hours of the slot and the card also gets a temporary hold for the expected total plus a margin for tip. Each pro chooses a policy: Strict takes 50% of the service for a late cancel and 100% for a no-show, Moderate takes 25% and 50%. Book inside the 24-hour window and even an instant cancellation is charged. These are US figures and can change.
Smart Pricing is the pro-side tool behind the high-demand tags clients see. A pro marks peak windows and sets the markup, or lets the system pick them from booking volume and time of day; the official example adds 20% to a Saturday slot while regulars with three or more visits and a VIP list keep the standard rate. The total appears before you tap Accept and Pay, and these bookings check out automatically with a 20% default tip that you can change until one hour after the appointment. The complaint is visibility: a February 2025 Google Play review, marked helpful by more than 160 people, says the surcharge surfaced only at the confirmation step. Fresha takes the opposite approach and advertises off-peak and last-minute discounts.
The help center describes the company as software the pro uses, so refunds for deposits, late-cancel fees and no-show charges are negotiated with the pro, not with support. Paying cash works only if the pro marks the checkout as CASH; otherwise the card on file is charged. Support does take up cases where a pro failed to show and you were still charged. Apple's privacy label lists contact info and identifiers as data that may track you across other companies' apps, and links precise location, contacts, payment and credit info to your identity. Google Play's Data safety form declares no data shared with third parties. The privacy policy was last updated on October 13, 2022 and mentions Google AdWords remarketing.
The pricing page lists one plan at $19 a month after a free trial, flagged as a limited-time rate for new pros, or $199 a year, for businesses with up to 15 chairs. Card processing is free during the trial and costs 1.9% for the following six months. These are US prices and can change. Clients who arrive through the marketplace trigger New Client Connection, a one-time fee of 30% of that first service, capped at $50. Each request must be answered within 24 hours, and ignoring or declining them lowers a pro's ranking. Booksy's Boost charges the same 30% but caps it at $100. Some Google Play reviews from pros in 2025 and 2026 report the new-client fee charged for clients they already had.

We score StyleSeat 6.8: booking straight into independent pros' calendars works and reviews are tied to real appointments, but fees gather around the menu price. Take it if your stylist or barber already books through it, or if you are a pro willing to give up 30% of a first visit for marketplace clients. Skip it if you dislike leaving a card on file, often cancel inside 24 hours, or want peak-hour prices without a surcharge.

Yes. Clients pay a $2.35 booking fee for each appointment, and a card is required to book. It is refunded only if the pro cancels outside their policy window, a reschedule made in the app adds no second fee, and package credits are booked without one. It is a US figure and can change.
That slot is most likely under Smart Pricing, which lets a pro add a markup to peak hours; the official example is 20%. Requesting a Premium Appointment for a time not on the pro's calendar also adds 20%, payable within 48 hours of approval. The full total shows before you tap Accept and Pay, so picking another time avoids it.

Open the app, tap Profile, find Delete Account in the Support section and confirm. Deletion removes your client profile and your appointment history. A card cannot be removed while an appointment is still upcoming unless another card is on file, so settle pending bookings first.
Booksy and Fresha are the closest. Booksy says it never charges clients to book, so the cost sits with the business. Fresha shows live availability, takes payment in the app after the visit and advertises off-peak and last-minute discounts in six countries, the US included.
