About TodayTix – Broadway Tickets

TodayTix sells official theatre tickets sourced from venues in 12 cities, led by Broadway and London's West End. Its draw is app-only access: free Lottery entries for seats such as $30 tickets to The Rocky Horror Show, and same-day Rush seats released at 9 a.m. in New York. MARI, the events group, bought its parent company in October 2025. The catch: most tickets are final sale, and refunds usually arrive as vouchers.

TodayTix Review: Real Theatre Deals, but Most Refunds Come as Vouchers

Rush at 9 a.m., Lottery wins with a one-hour claim window

Rush and Lottery are sold only in the mobile app, not on the website. Rush releases a limited batch for each performance day, first come, first served: in New York the window opens at 9 a.m., and on October 2, 2026, The Book of Mormon listed $49 Rush seats including an $8 fee, with a warning that they may have a partial view. London Rush opens at 10 a.m., mostly at £25 to £30. Lottery entry is free and caps a win at two tickets; New York winners get one hour to pay, while London's £10 Hamilton lottery allows only 30 minutes. Neither ticket type is transferable.

TodayTix Rewards: Red at 2 tickets, Gold at 16 and a $250 cap

The loyalty program that replaced Perks credit on July 3, 2024 counts tickets per calendar year, but only for shows you have seen. Two tickets reach Red: double Lottery entries and $5 in TixCash. Six reach Silver: $10 in TixCash, triple entries, week-of Drops deals of up to 50% off and free Ticket Protection on one order a year. Gold, at 16 tickets, multiplies entries by five, protects three orders a year and takes an extra 10% off in-app purchases, though not Rush, Lottery or Drops seats. That discount stops at $20 per ticket in New York and £8 in the UK, with a yearly ceiling of $250 for New York members and $150 elsewhere.

Ticket Protection and the 10-day rule: why refunds arrive as vouchers

Under the U.S. Terms of Use, tickets are neither refundable nor exchangeable unless the listing says so or you added Ticket Protection at checkout; it cannot be bought later. The add-on is priced per ticket, covers every seat in the order and lets you cancel from My Orders up to 24 hours before curtain, in return for a voucher worth the order minus the protection fee. That voucher lasts a year on U.S. shows and locks to the first device that uses it. A show canceled outright also earns a voucher by default; cash, minus service and order fees, needs a written request within 10 days of the voucher. A new date or time set by the producer is not grounds for a refund.

MARI ownership, 12 cities and a privacy policy that allows ad sharing

Broadway producers Merritt Baer and Brian Fenty launched the service in New York in December 2013. On October 20, 2025, MARI, the events company founded by Ariel Emanuel, announced it had bought the parent TodayTix Group from Great Hill Partners, keeping Fenty as CEO. The app lists 12 markets, from New York, London and Chicago to five Australian cities; the Google Play description still names Seattle, Toronto and Dallas, which are not among them. The U.S. privacy policy says the company may sell or share every listed category of personal data for personalized advertising, with an opt-out page. Apple's label lists purchases, location, identifiers and usage data as used to track you.

Pros

  • Free Lottery entries for seats such as $30 Rocky Horror tickets
  • Rush prices include the fee, $49 all-in for The Book of Mormon
  • Broadway Best Price Guarantee credits the difference if Telecharge or Ticketmaster is cheaper
  • Rewards start at two tickets and double your Lottery entries
  • Transfers by link carry Ticket Protection over to the recipient

Cons

  • Most tickets are final sale, and canceled shows default to vouchers, not cash
  • Rush seats can be held by other buyers moments after release
  • Rush, Lottery and Digital Cancellation Line tickets cannot be transferred to friends
  • Privacy policy allows selling or sharing personal data for personalized advertising

Verdict

We score TodayTix 7.5 for official seats in 12 cities, free Lotteries, Rush prices that include the fee and a rewards ladder that starts at two tickets. Take it if you are flexible about dates and seats in New York or London and can check the app each morning. Skip it, or pay for Ticket Protection, if plans may change, since refunds default to vouchers; the TKTS booth suits buyers who prefer paying in person.

Frequently asked questions

1

Is the TodayTix lottery free to enter?

Yes. No purchase is needed to enter, and you pay only if you win. On October 2, 2026, Broadway lotteries included $30 seats for The Rocky Horror Show and $40 Friday Forty seats for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, up to two per win, with one hour to claim. London's £10 Hamilton lottery allowed 30 minutes. Prices vary by show and can change.

2

How do TodayTix Rush tickets work?

Open a show in the app and unlock Rush, either by sharing it on social media or by tapping Unlock without sharing. Seats then release at 9 a.m. on performance days in New York and 10 a.m. in London, first come, first served, and unlocking does not guarantee you can hold one. Rush tickets cannot be transferred.

3

Can you get a refund on TodayTix tickets?

Usually not in cash. Tickets are final sale unless you add Ticket Protection at checkout, which lets you cancel 24 hours or more before the show for a voucher worth the order minus the protection fee. A show canceled outright also earns a voucher; to swap it for a refund, excluding service and order fees, ask in writing within 10 days.

4

How do I delete my TodayTix account?

In the app, open your account, tap the gear icon and choose Request account deletion; on the web, use Delete your account on the account page. The privacy policy promises action within 45 days. Spend vouchers and TixCash first: TixCash cannot be cashed out, and it expires after six months without new earnings.

5

Is TodayTix cheaper than TKTS or Ticketmaster?

Sometimes. The TKTS booths, including the one in Times Square, sell same-day seats at up to 50% off plus an $8 per-ticket service charge. For Broadway, TodayTix credits the difference as a voucher if Ticketmaster, Telecharge, SeatGeek or Broadway.com lists a comparable seat for less within 24 hours of purchase; Lottery and Rush prices are excluded.
