About Vivid Seats | Buy Tickets

Vivid Seats is a Chicago-based resale marketplace where independent sellers set ticket prices, which can sit above or below face value. The app adds Vivid Seats Rewards, which turns every 10 tickets into app-only credit, and a Lowest Price Guarantee that credits 115% of the gap when a rival lists the same seats for less. The catch: canceled events can be repaid in credit at the company's choice, and postponed shows are generally not refunded.

Vivid Seats Review: Strong Rewards and Price Match, Strict Refund Rules

All-In Pricing and the 115% Lowest Price Guarantee

The help center, updated in May 2025, says the listed price per ticket already includes a service charge and a delivery charge; tax is added at checkout. No fee percentage is published, and your card is only reserved until the seller confirms. App orders add the Lowest Price Guarantee: if SeatGeek, StubHub or Ticketmaster Verified Resale shows the same section, row and quantity for less, email a timestamped screenshot within one hour of the confirmation for credit worth 115% of the gap, up to $200 per claim and two claims a year. Web orders and purchases within 24 hours of the event are excluded. TickPick's version pays 110% and allows two hours.

Vivid Seats Rewards: 10 stamps, a 25% cut and a 50-stamp yearly cap

Each ticket in a confirmed order earns one stamp, and parking passes count too. Ten stamps become a Reward Credit equal to their average Eligible Price, which excludes taxes, fees and a further 25% labelled Processing Costs. Ten tickets with a $100 base price therefore return a $75 credit, about 7.5% back. Earning stops at 50 stamps, or five credits, per calendar year, and credit can be spent only in the app. Stamps expire after 24 months; credit lasts 24 to 48 months depending on lifetime spend and never expires for Legend members above $10,000. Since April 2024, new customers must opt in inside the app. Refunds can claw back stamps, and the program can change without notice.

What the 100% Buyer Guarantee covers when shows are canceled or moved

The guarantee promises valid tickets before the event that are identical, comparable or better than the seats ordered, or your money back. Delivery can come as late as the listed start time, and missing tickets must be reported within 48 hours of the start. Turned away at the gate? You need proof from the venue, and a confirmed denial returns the ticket price and fees, less possible restocking fees. For canceled events, the July 22, 2026 terms let the company choose between a refund and credit; its corporate FAQ lists the credit at 110%. Original tickets must be returned within two weeks. Postponed shows earn nothing while tickets stay valid, unless a law such as California's requires a refund.

Where it falls short: Ticketmaster transfers, chat support and nine delivery methods

Of the 150 newest English Google Play reviews we read, posted June 4 to September 30, 2026, 67 gave one star, often over late, partial or missing tickets and trouble reaching a person beyond chat. Electronic Transfer orders must be accepted in the account where the seller bought them, such as Ticketmaster or AXS. The transfer offer comes from that platform and the seller, not from Vivid Seats, and you must log in there with the same email used for the order. The help center lists nine delivery methods, from Mobile E-tickets and Instant Download PDFs to AXS Mobile ID, Local Pickup and Will Call, so one event can mix several. Each listing names its method under the row and again on the first checkout page.

Pros

  • Lowest Price Guarantee credits 115% of any cheaper-rival gap, up to $200
  • Every ticket earns a Rewards stamp, and ten stamps become app credit
  • All-In Pricing puts service and delivery charges inside the listed ticket price

  • Value Score rates each listing from 0 to 10 on price and seat location

Cons

  • Canceled events may be repaid in credit instead of cash, at the company's choice
  • Postponed shows are not refunded while tickets stay valid, except where state law requires
  • Reward Credit works only in the app and is cut 25% for processing costs
  • 67 of 150 recent Google Play reviews give one star, often over late tickets

Verdict

We scored it 6.3. Value Score, Rewards that return about 7.5% of base ticket prices as app credit, a 115% Lowest Price Guarantee and a 10% seller fee earn the score; refund-or-credit rules for cancellations, no refunds for most postponed shows, frequent one-star reports of late tickets and broad tracking pull it down. Take it if you buy several tickets a year in the app. Skip it if you need guaranteed cash refunds or fee-free buyer prices.

Core function7.5Value Score, Seat View maps, the 100% Buyer Guarantee and an app-only price match cover buying well.
Ease of use6.5Electronic Transfer orders must be accepted in a separate Ticketmaster or AXS account, and reviews report magic-link login failures.
Monetisation6.0Fees sit inside listed prices but stay unpublished; cancellations may be repaid in credit, and Rewards deduct 25% first.
Performance5.5Rated 4.7 in both stores, yet 67 of 150 recent Play reviews give one star, often citing late tickets.
Privacy & permissions5.0Apple's label lists purchases, location, contact info and identifiers as used to track you; Play's form claims no sharing.

Frequently asked questions

1

Does Vivid Seats charge fees?

Yes. The app is free, but each ticket price includes a service charge and a delivery charge under All-In Pricing, with tax added at checkout. No fee percentage is published, and sellers pay a separate 10% fee when tickets sell. Fees can change, so check the checkout total.

2

How does Vivid Seats Rewards work?

You earn one stamp per ticket, and 10 stamps become a Reward Credit worth their average ticket price after taxes, fees and a 25% processing deduction. Earning caps at five credits per calendar year, credit is spent only in the app, and stamps expire after 24 months.

3

How much does Vivid Seats take when you sell tickets?

Listing is free, and 10% of the sale is deducted once tickets sell. Fan sellers are paid through PayPal, usually seven business days after the event, and both seller and event must be in the US. Listings priced well above similar seats may be hidden from buyers. The fee can change.

4

Can I get a refund from Vivid Seats if my event is canceled or postponed?

For a canceled event, yes, but the company chooses between refunding the purchase price, less possible restocking fees, and giving credit. Postponed or rescheduled events are not refunded while tickets stay valid, unless a law such as California's requires it. Otherwise all sales are final, and reselling is the exit.

5

Is Vivid Seats better than StubHub or TickPick?

Not on buyer fees: TickPick charges buyers no service fee and takes 15% from sellers, while this marketplace builds fees into prices and takes 10%. Its Lowest Price Guarantee checks StubHub, SeatGeek and Ticketmaster Verified Resale and credits 115% of any gap. Ticketmaster's own app rates 2.5 on Google Play, against 4.7 here.
