About Astro Arena : 3vs3 Battle PvP

Astro Arena is Krafton's five-minute 3v3 MOBA — anime-styled Legends, roguelike power-ups mid-match, Team Deathmatch, Energy Stone Rush and Zone Control, plus a Solo Battle Royale — free on iOS and Android since July 9, 2026 with Astro Gems from $1.99, a $4.99 Epic Pass, lucky spins and rewarded ads. It rates 4.7 on the App Store and 4.5 on Google Play. Players like the characters and the pace; the complaints are matchmaking that stacks you against higher-level teams, a solo queue that falls apart, and art some suspect is AI-generated.

Astro Arena Review: Krafton's Five-Minute 3v3 Brawler, Rough in Solo Queue

Three Modes, Five Minutes, Power-Ups That Change Every Match

The format is Brawl Stars-adjacent: pick a Legend from an anime-style roster — 13 at launch, a July 24, 2026 four-star counted, with Spica and her Megahand gauntlet added since — and play 3v3 for five minutes in Team Deathmatch, Energy Stone Rush or Zone Control, with roguelike power-ups picked during the match so no two builds repeat; a July 23 five-star also spotted a new payload-style mode like Overwatch's. The September update brought back Solo Battle Royale on a new map, the Secret Lab, for last-Hero-standing rounds. The App Store's most-voted review, a July 16 five-star from a MOBA veteran, likes the characters and the teamwork and calls the overall experience fun; the July 23 review says the game already has good bones, with unique characters and solid modes; a September 9 five-star finds it fairly balanced.

Matchmaking, Solo Queue and the Art: Where the One-Stars Come From

The complaints cluster on who you play with and against. A September 17 Play one-star says matchmaking gets worse the higher you climb — teammates who ignore objectives and feed — and that ranged characters have too much health; an August 3 App Store three-star is paired against teams four levels above with no way to rank down short of losing 200 matches, and earns nothing for losing; a September 3 one-star calls solo play miserable, with coordination nonexistent. An August 31 Play three-star cannot find a match despite a million downloads, and finds levelling drags because points must go to one character. A September 9 reviewer who enjoyed the alpha will not return until art that looks AI-generated is replaced by human work, and a September 19 one-star objects that the Black Bunny Fei skin is far more sexualised than the 13+ rating implies.

Gems From $1.99, a $4.99 Pass, Lucky Spins and Rewarded Ads

The shop is a live-service checklist: Astro Gems at $1.99 and $4.99 with bonus doubles, an Epic Pass at $4.99, Skull and Power-Up Chance Packs at $0.99 to $2.99, and skin offers — Black Bunny Fei, Maestra Sephir — at $3.99 to $5.99 on daily, 4-time and season timers, with Google Play's range reaching $99.99 and random items declared; Apple flags Loot Boxes and Advertising, the latter being rewarded videos that a July 11 three-star says break the audio until a relaunch. That reviewer also finds the daily grind caps fast and the rewards after it not worth continuing. Data collection is light: Google lists nothing, Apple identifiers and usage data linked to you. The iOS build is 632 MB on iOS 15, Android needs 8.0, four languages, rated Everyone 10+ and 13+. Prices are regional.

Pros

  • Five-minute 3v3 matches with roguelike power-ups that vary every game
  • Three team modes plus a Solo Battle Royale on its own map since September
  • Characters and play styles reviewers call unique and fairly balanced
  • Good bones for a game in its first months, per multiple July reviews
  • 632 MB on iOS 15 or Android 8.0, with a developer who replies

Cons

  • Matchmaking pairs you against teams levels above with nothing earned for losing
  • Solo queue described as miserable, with teammates who ignore objectives
  • Levelling drags and the daily grind caps early, per August reviews
  • Art some players read as AI-generated, and a skin more adult than the 13+ rating

Verdict

A 6.4: a brisk, well-made 3v3 brawler with a real roster and a battle royale on the side, from a studio that keeps updating it, dragged down by matchmaking that its own players call the reason for their ratings and a shop that spins, packs and times its offers. Take it if you have two friends and want five-minute MOBA rounds on a phone. Skip it if you will queue solo, if a slow grind bothers you, or if AI-looking art is a dealbreaker.

Gameplay7Fast 3v3 with mid-match builds and a battle royale; ranged Legends too safe, per a September review.
Controls7Twin-stick MOBA controls no reviewer faults; the fights are readable on a phone.
Replay value6Seasons, a growing roster and ranked; a grind that caps daily and matchmaking that punishes climbing.
Graphics & sound7Crisp anime designs and bright arenas; suspected AI art and repetitive voice lines count against it.
Monetisation5Chance packs, lucky spins, timed skin offers and a short pass — the full live-service menu.

Frequently asked questions

1

Can you play Astro Arena offline?

No. Every mode is real-time PvP against other players on Krafton's servers, from 3v3 to Solo Battle Royale, and the pass, shop and rewarded ads are online too. There is no bot or practice mode described on the listing; an August 2026 reviewer's complaint is not finding a match at all, which is a server-side problem, not a phone one.

2

Is Astro Arena pay to win?

Not directly — the shop sells gems, a $4.99 Epic Pass, chance packs and skins, and no most-voted review claims paid power. The pressure is on progression: an August 2026 reviewer finds levelling slow and points forced onto one character, and losing earns nothing, so spending shortens the climb. Google Play's range tops out at $99.99. Prices vary by region.

3

What phone do you need for Astro Arena?

iOS 15 or newer with 632 MB free, or Android 8.0 or newer; the App Store build also runs on iPad and Apple Silicon Macs. Krafton's replies blame crashes on low memory, so keep space free. The game is in four languages and not yet available in every country, per a September 2026 review.

4

Can you play Astro Arena with friends?

Yes, and the reviews say you should: squads of three fill a whole team, and the September 2026 one-star's point is that the game falls apart with random teammates. Solo Battle Royale is the mode for playing alone. Cross-play between iOS and Android is standard for Krafton's titles and the listing shows one shared arena.

5

How long does an Astro Arena match take?

Five minutes for 3v3, a little more for Solo Battle Royale, so a session is however many rounds you queue. The daily grind caps fast, per a July 2026 review, after which rewards thin out; the season pass and Crown Mission events give a few weeks of goals each. Levelling every Legend takes far longer than levelling one.
