The game is the PS2 original: a school year as Jimmy Hopkins, taking on Bullies, Preppies, Greasers, Jocks and Nerds across Bullworth Academy and the town beyond it, with classes as mini-games — chemistry, art, gym, music — that unlock abilities, and prefects to outrun after curfew. The Anniversary Edition adds four bonus classes and non-story missions from the Scholarship Edition, and War Drum's port carries the whole map with a mini-map, a skateboard and fights that use timing, reversals and grapples. The most-voted Play review, an April 2025 five-star with 3,543 votes, calls it a solid port of the reviewer's favourite PS2 game — good music, a dense world, a fun experience — after a long period in which it was broken on new phones. A June 2021 App Store review frames it as the PG version of GTA San Andreas: cliques for gangs, the gym for strength, the same tongue-in-cheek writing.

Touch Is Fine, Controllers Walk Diagonally, and the Old Bugs Remain

The controls split by input method. A September 2, 2026 Play five-star says the game runs and plays perfectly on the touch interface and then warns in capitals against external controllers: the port disregards diagonal inputs, so you walk instead of run whenever the stick is off-axis. Against that, a May 2023 App Store five-star found a Backbone One turned it into a gem, so the behaviour may vary by pad and version. The touch complaints are old ones: an August 2025 three-star with 346 votes finds movement and class mini-games tricky, the reversal and push-off buttons failing to appear in fights, and the school alarm glitching when the fire alarm is pulled; a September 2026 Spanish one-star reports the rubber-band ball bug, years old, still losing the item on arrest. September 2026 reviews add muted sound on iOS and Chapter 3 task bugs.

A 30-Minute Trial, $6.99 to Keep It, or GTA+

The pricing changed from a paid download to a trial model: the first thirty minutes are free, the Anniversary Edition Full Game is a one-time $6.99 purchase on the App Store, and GTA+ subscribers get unlimited access while it stays in the subscription. Google Play's item range runs $0.99 to $24.99, which will include the unlock and regional variants. There are no ads and no other purchases; a September 14, 2026 three-star asks to play without the timer, which is the trial doing its job. Google's data-safety card lists personal info, financial info and three other types collected; Apple lists no tracking. The iOS build is 2.37 GB and runs on iOS 13 or later, iPad and Apple Silicon Macs; Android needs 9. It is on 5 million-plus installs with 87,200 reviews at 4.0 on Play and 13,840 App Store ratings at 4.7. Prices are regional.
