Audi's companion app ties an Audi ID to the car for remote locking, climate, charging status, service booking and, on select 2025–2026 models, an AI Assistant that answers owner's-manual questions. Its edge is price: Audi connect CARE, including remote start where equipped, comes free for 10 years on new cars. Its weak spot is the link to the car itself: 69 of the 150 newest English Play reviews give one or two stars.

Every new Audi comes with Audi connect CARE for 10 years, though Audi notes the plan applies to select 2026 models. It covers emergency call, stolen vehicle locator, remote lock and unlock, a vehicle status report and, where the car is equipped, remote start, along with car finder, geofencing, valet alerts and speed or curfew alerts. The Q4 e-tron is the exception: Audi's own footnotes exclude it from remote lock and unlock, geofencing and speed alerts. After a three-year trial, Audi connect NAV costs $150 a year; PLUS, with in-car Wi-Fi and Alexa, gets six months on 2026 cars, then $250 a year. Rivals charge for the same convenience: Toyota puts Remote Connect inside plans from $15 a month, and BMW sells Remote Engine Start as a paid ConnectedDrive Upgrade. Prices exclude tax and can change.
The AI Assistant sits in its own center tab, takes typed or spoken questions and cites the owner's manual chapter behind each answer. Audi limits it to the 2025–2026 Q6 e-tron, A6 e-tron, A5 and Q5 plus the 2026 A6, requires an active NAV trial or subscription, and warns its AI-generated answers may contain errors. Digital Key is limited to select 2026-and-newer models with the right hardware; on the Q6 e-tron, the first Audi to support it, it is standard and needs no paid plan. Phones with Ultra-Wideband unlock and start from a pocket, while NFC-only phones such as the iPhone 16e and Galaxy Z Flip 6 need a tap on the door handle and the charging cradle. Keys are shared through Apple or Google Wallet with lock-only, valet or full permissions. A June 2026 Play review with 11 helpful votes says every Android update breaks the key.
Google Play's Data safety section lists name, email, address, phone number, user IDs, device IDs, app interactions and optional calendar events, and says user IDs may be shared with other companies. The App Store label from the same developer reads Data Not Collected, though its listing warns the iPhone app may use location while closed. Connected-car data has leaked before: in December 2024, Der Spiegel and the Chaos Computer Club reported that a misconfigured cloud at Volkswagen's Cariad exposed records from nearly 800,000 Group EVs, Audi included, with Audi positions accurate to about 10 kilometers; the exposure centered on Europe. In the U.S., Audi's December 2025 terms send disputes to arbitration, refund nothing on cancelled plans and require sellers to delete the car from their account. Every service also depends on 4G LTE, with no guarantee after a network shutdown.

The 6.3 reflects generous pricing held back by reliability. Take it if you bought a new Audi: CARE adds remote lock, status, alerts and equipped remote start for 10 years at no charge, and 2025–2026 Q6 e-tron, A6, A5 and Q5 owners also get the Assistant. Look elsewhere for reassurance if you drive a Q4 e-tron, which lacks remote lock and geofencing, or plan to leave the fob at home: recent reviewers describe stale status and a Digital Key that breaks after Android updates.

Yes, the app is free and shows no ads. New Audis include Audi connect CARE for 10 years, covering remote lock and unlock, vehicle status, emergency call and remote start where equipped. Navigation services need Audi connect NAV after a three-year trial, and in-car Wi-Fi needs PLUS after six months. Prices are regional and can change.
Remote start works only on equipped models, and only for a verified Key User who has accepted the Audi connect Terms of Service. Play reviewers add that it fails unless the doors are locked and the electronic parking brake is set, which the app cannot apply. Dropped connections between app and car are the most frequent complaint in recent reviews.
CARE is included for 10 years on new cars. Audi connect NAV costs $150 a year, $30 less than paying monthly, and PLUS, with in-car Wi-Fi and Alexa, costs $250 a year, $50 less than monthly. This 12-for-10 annual deal covers 2024-and-newer models except the 2026 Q8, SQ8 and RS Q8. Prices exclude tax and may change.
Cancel a paid plan from your profile in the app, the myAudi Marketplace or the web portal, or by calling 1-877-505-AUDI. No refund is issued, but service runs to the end of the paid period. When selling, delete the vehicle from your account and tell the buyer which services are active; deleting the account itself cancels the service.
On cost, yes. Audi includes remote lock and equipped remote start in CARE for 10 years, Toyota puts Remote Connect inside plans from $15 a month, and BMW sells Remote Engine Start as a paid upgrade for 2019-and-newer automatic four- and six-cylinder models. On features, a September 2025 Play review with 11 helpful votes still asks for BMW-style window and heated-wheel controls.
