Best Rhythm and Music Games on Mobile, Ranked
Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage is the best rhythm game on a phone: six difficulty tiers up to a three-finger Append level, and every song unlocks throug
Amanotes' one-finger rhythm game has you hold and drag a ball across beat-timed tiles, unlike the four-lane tapping of Magic Tiles 3. It is free, with 500M+ Google Play installs, but ads arrive before songs, after failed runs and when you unlock tracks, and VIP costs $6.99 a week in the US App Store. In 2026 many players also lost the option to play their own MP3s.

You keep one finger on the screen and slide it left or right; the ball lands on a tile with each beat, and a miss ends the run unless you revive. Clearing a song opens endless mode, which speeds the track up: players have complained since 2020 that the pitch rises too, and a July 2026 reviewer found the path unreadable by endless level 5. Crown ranks and global leaderboards add goals, and Phonk Life, in update notes since April 2026, chains several tracks into one run. Google Play tags the game single player, so there is no live duel like Magic Tiles 3's Battle Mode. September 2026 reviews report lag and lost ball control; Amanotes says an input and performance fix is coming.
Amanotes put the library at more than 38,000 songs in 2022; the App Store text promised 4,000 in 2024 and now gives no figure. Phonk leads: Music Week reported a 2024 licensing deal with the label NCS that named phonk as a fit for this game, after Monstercat-themed levels in 2020. Update notes named new tracks every week or two from April to September 2026, from Billie Eilish's CHIHIRO to two Bruno Mars songs. Some hits are covers: a store screenshot labels Perfect as originally by Ed Sheeran. The bigger loss is your own music. The App Store text still advertised uploading a local library in January 2026, but more than 30 Google Play reviews in seven languages since late July say the option is gone; Amanotes says it is working to make Custom Music consistent.
Reviewers place video ads before a song, after a failed run, after the results, behind locked tracks and, in one October 2026 review, mid-song. Of 1,024 Google Play reviews we read from August to early October 2026 in 13 languages, 127 mention ads, including 52 of the 176 one- and two-star reviews. A Brazilian reviewer describes unskippable ads lasting over a minute, and one got a no-ad-ready message instead of the song. The data trail fits: Google Play's data safety form says approximate location, device IDs and purchase history may be shared for advertising, and Amanotes' April 2025 privacy policy lists 40 ad and analytics partners, including AppLovin and Unity Ads.
The US App Store lists a one-week VIP subscription at $6.99, Full Access at $9.99 a month and $39.99 a year, a $1.99 Remove Ads item and a $1.99 Summer Economy Package with a skin and unlimited revives; Google Play prices items from $0.99 to $49.99. Prices vary by region and may change. Amanotes publishes no VIP perk list here; reviewers since 2020 say paying removes ads and adds songs and continues, though one in September 2026 still saw ads after paying to go ad-free. Magic Tiles 3 lists VIP from $3.49 a week but charges $9.99 to remove ads; Dancing Line sells levels singly, such as a $3.99 Alan Walker stage. Amanotes' terms allow free trials, auto-renew plans and leave cancellation and refunds to Apple or Google.

We score it 6.4: steering one ball through beat-timed tiles is quick to learn and hard to master, and new tracks arrive every week or two, but ads interrupt before, after and between runs, and VIP costs $6.99 a week. Take it for phonk and pop hits if you can live with ads or pay to remove them. Skip it if you came for your own MP3s or want live duels: Magic Tiles 3 has Battle Mode, and Dancing Line builds levels around original music.

Partly. Google Play tags the game as playable offline, and Amanotes' 2024 store text said each song you unlock then plays without internet. Unlocking tracks through ads needs a connection, and reviewers in 2025 and 2026 say the game still asked for Wi-Fi.
Only if ads are what stop you. The US App Store lists VIP at $6.99 a week, Full Access at $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year, and Remove Ads at $1.99; prices vary by region. Trials, which Amanotes' terms allow, bill automatically unless cancelled through Apple or Google.
Android 7.0 or later, or iOS and iPadOS 15.0 or later; Apple also lists M1 Macs and Apple Vision Pro, and Google Play offers a Windows version through Google Play Games. The iPhone download is over 700 MB, and the App Store lists English only.
Not in real time. Google Play classes it as single player; the store text offers global leaderboards and score challenges instead. For head-to-head play, Magic Tiles 3 has a real-time Battle Mode against friends or random players.
A run lasts until you miss a tile: finishing a track switches to endless mode, which keeps speeding up, though some players say tracks are cut short. Amanotes shipped 25 iOS builds between April 23 and September 30, 2026, and runs seasonal events such as October's Oktoberfest Beat Splash.
