About Lezhin Comics

Lezhin is a Korean webcomic store where most series give away one or more opening episodes, then charge coins per episode, usually 30 to 40. Its draw is the Lezhin Originals catalog and a reader with an Offline Library, landscape mode and double-page spreads. The main limit: the Google Play and App Store editions hide mature-rated titles and sell no VIP Membership; both live on the website or a sideloaded Android app.

Lezhin Comics Review: Strong Exclusives, Pricey Coins, a Filtered Store App

Is Lezhin free? WUF timers, Free Rental Passes and 24-hour Bonus Coins

Free reading runs through three mechanisms. WUF (Wait Until Free) titles unlock the next episode after a 3, 6, 12 or 24-hour timer, but it locks again after 72 hours, and some recent chapters are excluded. Free Rental Passes from the Gift Box usually cover up to the first 30% of a series, capped at episode 10, for 72 hours each. The Daily Check-In page, added in March 2026, pays 10 Bonus Coins a day that expire after 24 hours, a third of a 30-coin episode. Play reviews with over 100 helpful votes say the Video Zone for ad-watching coins is gone; WEBTOON and Tapas still unlock select episodes for watching an ad.

Offline Library: batch downloads, but only for purchased episodes

The Offline Library arrived in April 2026 and gained multi-select in May: open a title, tap Download, tick the episodes and save them in one batch, with queued and completed states shown in your Library. Two limits matter. It works only in the Android and iOS apps, not on the website, and only for purchased episodes, so anything opened with WUF or a Free Rental Pass stays online-only. August 2026 added Landscape Mode, Double-Page View for titles that support Page View, and Slide or Page-curl transitions in Viewer Settings. The same month, Lezhin rolled back its all-new My Library, launched August 19, after errors.

What 30 to 40 coins an episode costs, and why VIP is not in the app

On the US App Store, 240 coins plus 20 bonus coins cost $5.99, so a 30-coin episode works out to about 70 cents and a 40-coin one to about 90 cents; check the current price in the app, as it varies by region. Regular Coins never expire, but every Bonus Coin does. Points earned through Unlock All only discount Point-Redeem Bundles that still need cash, such as 1,000 Points plus $2.99. A bundle is refundable within 7 days, and only if none of it was spent. VIP Membership, the monthly plan, is sold only on the website or in the Android PLUS app, and older VIP plans stopped renewing on December 28, 2025.

The PLUS APK, Apple's tracking label and the 13+ store ratings

The store builds are the filtered edition. Apple's listing calls the iPhone and iPad catalog G-rated, and a May 2026 Play review with 17 helpful votes reports mature titles missing on Android too. Lezhin Comics PLUS, an Android-only APK from Lezhin's website, needs unknown-source installs enabled and advertises every mature-rated title plus up to 26% off coins daily. The Play data form says nothing is shared with third parties, yet Apple's label lists identifiers and usage data used to track you across other companies' apps, and the US privacy policy names advertising networks among recipients. Store ratings are Teen on Google Play and 13+ on the App Store.

Pros

WUF timers unlock free episodes every 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours
Offline Library downloads purchased episodes in batches for reading without a connection
Free Rental Passes open up to 10 opening episodes, 72 hours each
Landscape Mode with Double-Page View shows two pages side by side on supported titles
Regular Coins you buy never expire, unlike Bonus Coins and Points
Comments and page stamps on select titles pin reactions to a specific scene

Cons

Episodes typically cost 30 to 40 coins, about 70 to 90 cents each
Daily check-in Bonus Coins expire after 24 hours and cannot be saved up
Store apps hide mature-rated titles and lack VIP, which needs the website or an APK
Only English, Japanese and Korean, and purchases stay tied to one language service

Verdict

We score it 6.3. Exclusive Lezhin Originals, WUF timers and a capable reader with offline downloads earn the points; per-episode coin pricing, 24-hour bonus coins and a store edition without mature-rated titles or VIP cost them. Take it if you follow a series only Lezhin publishes and accept paying up to about a dollar per episode. Skip it if you want a monthly all-you-can-read plan, ad-unlocked episodes like WEBTOON's, or are 13 or younger, which Lezhin's terms bar.

Core function7.5Exclusive Lezhin Originals, WUF timers, an Offline Library and double-page reading, but store builds omit mature-rated titles.

Ease of use6.0Coins, Bonus Coins, Title Exclusive Bonus Coins, Points and rental passes each follow different expiry rules.

Monetisation5.0Per-episode pricing of 30 to 40 coins, 24-hour check-in coins and VIP sold only outside the store apps.

Performance6.02026 Play reviews report unstable-connection errors on working networks, and August's My Library redesign was rolled back.

Privacy & permissions6.0Play claims no third-party sharing, while Apple's label lists identifiers and usage data used for cross-app tracking.

Frequently asked questions

Is Lezhin Comics free to read?

Partly. Most series offer one or more free opening episodes, WUF titles unlock more on a 3 to 24-hour timer, and Free Rental Passes cover up to the first 10 episodes for 72 hours. Everything else costs coins, usually 30 to 40 per episode, and the 10 Bonus Coins from the daily check-in expire after 24 hours.

Can you download Lezhin comics to read offline?

Yes, but only episodes you have bought. The Offline Library, added in April 2026, lets you select several purchased episodes on a title's page and download them together in the Android or iOS app. It is not available on the website, and episodes opened with WUF or a Free Rental Pass cannot be saved.

How much do Lezhin coins cost?

On the US App Store, 240 coins plus 20 bonus coins cost $5.99, enough for six to eight episodes at 30 to 40 coins each. Prices vary by region and can change. Purchased Regular Coins never expire, while Bonus Coins do. VIP Membership is sold only on the website or in the Android PLUS app.

What happens to my Lezhin coins and comics if I delete my account?

You lose them. Deactivating the account removes access to remaining coins and purchased episodes, including those in other language services. A coin bundle can be refunded only within 7 days and only if none of it was spent. When a title leaves Lezhin because its contract expires, episodes you already bought stay in My Library.

What is a cheaper alternative to Lezhin?

WEBTOON and Tapas lean more on free reading. Tapas says most of its series are free, runs Wait Until Free timers as short as 3 hours and offers an ad-watch option for an episode. WEBTOON replaced its Daily Pass in May 2025 with ads that unlock select episodes. Lezhin's case rests on its exclusive Originals.
