About Taco Bell Fast Food & Delivery

The official Taco Bell app takes pickup and delivery orders and is the only place to redeem Taco Bell Rewards: 10 points per $1, a free item every 250 points, and 11 per $1 after 2,000 points in a calendar year. My Mods saves ingredient swaps, and Tuesday Drops holds members-only offers. The catch: since an August 2026 redesign, Google Play reviews average 2.4 stars, against 4.7 on the App Store.

Taco Bell App Review: Clear Rewards Math, a Redesign Few Asked For

Taco Bell Rewards: 10 Points per $1, a Free Item Every 250

Every signed-in account is enrolled automatically, and a qualifying order earns 10 points per dollar at the entry Hot tier. Each 250 points converts into a reward from a list of 11 items, from a Crunchy Taco to a medium fountain drink, so one free item takes $25 of spending. Reach 2,000 points in a calendar year and Fire tier raises earning to 11 points per dollar, adds nine more picks such as a Chalupa Supreme and Cinnabon Delights, and carries into the next year; tier points reset on January 1. The program terms set the limits: points expire six months after the month they were earned, a reward lapses 30 days after it posts, only three transactions per 12 hours earn points, and in-store receipts must be scanned within five days. Members must be 16 or older and live in the U.S.

My Mods, Tuesday Drops and the August 2026 Redesign

Version 10.0 arrived on August 3, 2026 with My Menu, a Loyalty Hub and My Mods, which stores ingredient preferences, such as extra tomatoes or no sour cream, and applies them with one tap. According to QSR Magazine, the chain says more than half of its app orders include a customization, so the feature targets real behavior. Tuesday Drops gathers weekly members-only offers behind a countdown, alongside limited-time passes such as the Nacho Fries Lover's Pass. The rollout was rough: menu search was missing until version 10.1.0 on September 1, and Play reviewers describe category carousels that need extra taps. Several also report that a gift card short of the total could no longer be combined with a bank card and had to be reloaded first, from $10; version 10.3.0 moved that reload into checkout on September 29.

Delivery in the App: DoorDash Couriers, Fees Set by Location

Delivery orders placed in the app are carried by DoorDash couriers through the DoorDash Drive service, which became permanent in November 2022. The company says app delivery carries no menu markup over in-store prices; the delivery fee varies by restaurant, appears only after you enter an address, and is not a driver tip. Any tip has to be added before checkout, because the delivery FAQ says it cannot be added afterwards. App delivery orders earn Rewards points, but the welcome reward works only for in-store or drive-thru pickup. The same restaurants also sell through DoorDash and Uber Eats, where prices can differ and no chain points, offers or rewards apply. Those apps make more sense if you already pay $9.99 a month for DashPass or Uber One, which remove delivery fees on eligible orders. Fees and prices may change.

Precise Location, Tracking Labels and the Yum! Brands Policy

Google Play's data-safety form says nothing is shared with third parties and lists no location data, while the App Store label lists precise location and says contact info, identifiers and usage data may be used to track you across other companies' apps and websites. The Yum! Brands privacy policy, last modified September 1, 2026, explains the location part: with location services on, the app gathers GPS and Wi-Fi position to find the nearest restaurant through Google Maps, and the four-digit check-in code that earns points at the counter requires precise location. Under the June 23, 2026 notice for U.S. state residents, precise location is not sold or shared, but other personal data may be sold or shared for targeted advertising unless you opt out through the Do Not Sell or Share form or a Global Privacy Control signal.

  • 10 points per $1, and every 250 points becomes a free item
  • Fire tier at 2,000 points raises earning to 11 points per dollar
  • My Mods saves ingredient swaps and applies them with one tap
  • App delivery earns Rewards points; DoorDash and Uber Eats orders do not
  • No ads and no in-app purchases on either store
  • Precise location is not sold or shared, per the June 2026 notice

Cons

  • 2.4 stars on Google Play after the August 2026 redesign, versus 4.7 on iOS
  • Reviewers report failed checkouts that still charge the card until a refund posts
  • Points expire after six months and rewards after 30 days
  • Requires Android 12 or later and offers only an English interface

Verdict

The Taco Bell app scores 6.5 because its rewards math is clear: 10 points per dollar, a free item every 250 points, Fire tier at 2,000, and delivery orders that earn points DoorDash and Uber Eats orders never will. The August 2026 redesign pulls it down, with menu search arriving a month late, reports of failed checkouts that still charged cards, and a 2.4 rating on Google Play. Install it if you pick up there every month. Skip it on Android 11 or older, or if you need a Spanish interface.

Frequently asked questions

1

How do Taco Bell Rewards points work?

Joining is free, and each qualifying dollar earns 10 points; every 250 points turns into a free item from a list of 11, so one reward takes $25 of spending. Reaching 2,000 points in a calendar year unlocks Fire tier, with 11 points per dollar and nine extra items. Points expire six months after the month they were earned, and rewards are redeemed only in the app.

2

Do Taco Bell delivery orders earn rewards points?

Yes, if you order delivery in the Taco Bell app while signed in; the chain's delivery FAQ says qualifying app delivery orders earn points. Orders placed on DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub or Postmates do not, and the free welcome reward is limited to in-store and drive-thru pickup. App deliveries themselves are handled by DoorDash couriers.

3

How much is Taco Bell delivery in the app?

There is no fixed fee: delivery and other fees are set by location and shown at checkout once you enter an address. The company says app menu prices match in-store prices, and notes that the delivery fee is not a driver tip; any tip must be added before you place the order. Fees and prices vary by region and may change.

4

Can I use Taco Bell rewards without the app?

No. The program terms say points and rewards can be redeemed only in the mobile app, and account activity is visible only there. Kiosks and receipt barcodes can add points, and a four-digit check-in code lets you redeem at the counter, but that code comes from the app. Deleting your account forfeits remaining points and rewards; you can still order on the website as a guest.

5

Does the Taco Bell app track your location?

Only if you allow location services. The app then uses GPS and Wi-Fi position to find nearby restaurants through Google Maps, and the four-digit check-in code needs precise location. The June 2026 privacy notice for U.S. state residents says precise location is not sold or shared, though other personal data may be used for targeted advertising unless you opt out.
