God Rivals is Gamee's dark-fantasy action roguelike — a fixed hero fighting through chapters of arenas with a special attack, an ultimate and boons from gods, against bosses named for the deadly sins — free on Android since spring 2026 and iOS since June 8, with ads, a $9.99 ad skip and loot boxes flagged. It is the hyper-casual studio's first action game, and the reviews say so: real potential, hitboxes that miss, and an August 1 patch that slowed the game to a crawl.
Specs come from the official store listings and were last checked on 2026-09-21. Developers change pricing and requirements — check the store page before installing.
The structure is the Hades template on a phone: runs through chapters of top-down arenas, a hero with auto-attacks, an aimed special skill and an ultimate meter, boons drawn between rooms from gods — the God of the Sun offers Burning Sleep and a legendary Phoenix Rebirth — and bosses at the end of each chapter, with Pride, Envy and Wrath on the key art. Between runs sits an RPG layer: equipment, talents and permanent upgrades that make the next run stronger. The reviews that like it say what for: an August 8, 2026 App Store five-star calls it a nice roguelike with excellent graphics and sound, responsive play, plenty to upgrade and no levels behind a paywall; a June 24 Play three-star with five votes calls it amazing for mobile. Gamee — a Hong Kong-registered puzzle studio — updated it to version 1.1.22–23 on September 15 with an Angel Privilege feature and custom profiles. Rated 13+ and Everyone, in 14 languages.
The problems are the ones a young action game has. An August 12 Play two-star says the hitboxes are not coded properly — abilities pass harmlessly through enemies while enemy attacks land at double the range of the red indicator — and Gamee's reply points to version 1.1.17's hitbox fixes. The June 24 review finds the third chapter's pink blobs impossible to dodge and the rounds too long. An August 5 two-star describes the August 1 patch as an overadjustment: special-skill aiming far more limited, the ultimate meter barely filling, mobs slowed and weakened to compensate, the pace crawling; Gamee says it is reviewing the changes. On the App Store a September 3 one-star reached zero progression without spending and calls it a pay-to-win solo game with badly telegraphed enemies; an August 2 three-star wants a character creator instead of a preordained hero. Ratings: 4.0 from 1,760 on Play with 50,000-plus installs, 3.3 from 35 on the App Store.
Apple flags Loot Boxes, Advertising and In-App Purchases; Google Play prices items from $0.99 to $79.99. The App Store's top ten are Skip Ads at $9.99, Starter Packs for a Glove at $0.99, an Orb at $9.99 and a Dagger at $14.99, a Sylvie character pack at $14.99, World Packs at $1.99 and $2.99, a Flash Deal Key at $0.99, and two tiers of a Pass Ground at $9.99 and $14.99. The August 8 five-star says nothing needs buying to progress; the September 3 one-star says progression stopped without it — both can be true of a roguelike whose difficulty curve is still moving. Apple's tracking list is Identifiers and Usage Data linked to you; Google's data-safety card lists Device IDs collected and App activity shared. The install is 699 MB on iPhone, iOS 15 or Android 7.1. Prices are regional.

A 5.4: a good-looking roguelike with the right skeleton and a balance team still finding it — hitboxes fixed in one patch, pace broken in the next — under the full ad-and-pack shop. Take it if you want Hades-style runs on a phone and are willing to ride the patches. Skip it until the August rebalance is reversed, or if ads with a $9.99 exit are not how you want a roguelike to start.
The store pages do not say. It is single-player, but ads, events, passes and the shop are online, and a June 2026 reviewer lost an event run at stage 19 to a bug that reads as a sync failure. Pay the $9.99 ad skip and test airplane mode if offline play matters.
Its reviews disagree: an August 2026 five-star says nothing needs buying and no level is paywalled; a September one-star reached zero progression without spending. The shop has ads with a $9.99 skip, loot boxes flagged by Apple, starter packs to $14.99, pass tiers and items to $79.99 on Google Play. There is no PvP. Prices vary by region.
iOS 15 or newer with 699 MB free, or Android 7.1 or newer; Apple Silicon Macs run it. Reviews do not report performance trouble — the complaints are design and balance — so a mid-range phone is enough.
No. It is a single-player roguelike with no co-op, PvP or guilds on either store; events are solo runs against a stage counter. The September 2026 update added custom profiles, which is as social as it gets.
Longer than reviewers want: a June 2026 review finds rounds go on too long, and a September one-star calls fights too long for zero reward. A chapter is a sitting; there is no pause or save mid-stage, which a June reviewer requests. The long game is gear, talents and events between runs.
