About RF Online Next

RF Online Next is Netmarble's sequel to the 2004 mech MMORPG — three factions, seven classes swapped by changing Biosuit, MAU mechs and Launchers, flight, and a 300-versus-300-versus-300 warzone — on iOS, Android and PC with one account since the June 16, 2026 global launch. It is 18+ with loot boxes. The reviews agree on the look and split on everything else: click-to-target combat, 45-minute queues in June, and a market that runs on bought currency.

RF Online Next Review: Three Factions, 300-a-Side Wars and a Wallet-Shaped Wall

Biosuits Instead of Races, Mechs Instead of Magic

The 2004 RF Online was three races at permanent war; Next keeps the three-faction war and rebuilds the rest. Classes are Biosuits — seven, switched freely with gear and skill growth kept — so one character can tank one hour and shoot the next, which old fans call the loss of the game's essence and newcomers the reason to stay. Sacred Weapons are the spectacle: the Launcher for bombardment, the MAU mech that charges through lines, the Animus summon for the moments that decide a siege, and free flight. The endgame is scale — world-boss raids and, since the September 10, 2026 update, the Albern Warzone at 300 versus 300 versus 300, with a new zone, Paleos, and Chapter 11. Korea, Japan and Taiwan got it in late September 2025; the worldwide launch was June 16, 2026 on Google Play, the App Store, the Netmarble Launcher and Epic, one account across phone and PC.

Click-to-Target Combat, June's 45-Minute Queues, August's Full Dungeons

The most-voted Google Play review, July 1, 2026 with 19 helpful votes, sets the terms: near-console graphics on a phone and outdated controls — you tap a small targeting button before attacking, there is no custom layout, and you cannot swing at nothing to practise. A July 28 review with nine votes hit a wall at level 50 against a boss called Tetra, found the mechs usable in too few places and support available only through Facebook. Launch month was the servers: a June 23 review waited 45 minutes in a queue that reset if the screen slept; App Store reviews in July count four American servers, one full for days, and in August three of four dungeons choked with alts, plus iOS crashes on 1.29.8. The praise is specific too: auto-path, a coherent story, and a June 25 five-star for steering the PC client from the Netmarble Connect app.

Loot Boxes, $79.99 Packs and a Market That Takes Bought Currency

Apple flags Loot Boxes and rates it 18+; Google Play prices items from $0.99 to $79.99 and the App Store's top ten are RF Packages from $0.99 to $69.99 plus Arca's Privilege at $4.99. The objection in the reviews is structural: the player market trades in a currency bought with real money, drop rates are horrid by a July 3 account — a hundred million kills for one item, and skills are drops too — and an August 19 reviewer says even events need payment to complete.. Google's data-safety card lists Personal info, Financial info and six other types collected, two shared. The install is light for the genre, 463 MB on iPhone, iOS 15 or Android 9, and the audience is large — 1 million installs and 47,100 reviews at 3.9 on Play, 510 App Store ratings at 4.3. Prices are regional.

Pros

  • Seven classes swapped by Biosuit with no lost progress
  • MAU mechs, Launchers, Animus summons and free flight in faction wars
  • 300-versus-300-versus-300 Albern Warzone since September 2026
  • One account on phone, PC and Epic; the Connect app drives the PC client
  • Near-console graphics in a 463 MB install

Cons

  • Tap-to-target combat with no custom controls, per the most-voted Play review
  • Queues, full servers and alt-choked dungeons from June to August 2026
  • Loot boxes, $79.99 packs and a market fed by bought currency
  • Drop rates and skill drops that a July reviewer measured in millions of kills

Verdict

A 5.6: a big, good-looking mech MMO whose reviews describe a queue in front of it, a targeting button inside it and a wallet at the end of it. Take it if you want three-faction war at 300 a side on a phone and PC with one account, and you play these games as a long grind anyway. Skip it if you loved the 2004 RF Online's races — this is a different game with the name — or if a bought-currency market is a dealbreaker.

Gameplay7Faction war at 300 a side, mechs and flight; the level-50 wall and a Tetra boss are where the grind bites.
Controls5A targeting button before every attack and no custom layout, against near-console graphics.
Replay value6A live MMO with raids, sieges and a September warzone — when the queue lets you in.
Graphics & sound8Triple-A near console quality, per the July review that disliked everything else.
Monetisation3Loot boxes, packs to $79.99, a bought-currency market and paid events — the reviews' main charge.

Frequently asked questions

1

Can you play RF Online Next offline?

No. It is a faction MMORPG on Netmarble's servers — the June 2026 queues, the full American servers in July and the dungeon caps in August are all server-side, and the one-account-across-devices feature depends on them. There is no offline mode or solo build on either store.

2

Is RF Online Next pay to win?

The reviews say yes and describe how: the player market trades in a currency bought with money, Apple flags loot boxes, Google Play lists items to $79.99 and the App Store packs reach $69.99, and an August 2026 reviewer says events need payment to complete. A June reviewer's counterpoint is that early spending does not help much — the grind is weeks either way. Prices vary by region.

3

What phone do you need for RF Online Next?

iOS 15 or Android 9 or newer, with a 463 MB App Store download that grows in play, in 16 languages. The controls, not the hardware, are the friction — a tap-to-target system without custom layouts — and the PC client through the Netmarble Launcher or Epic shares your account if the phone version wears on you.

4

Can you play RF Online Next with friends?

Yes — it is built for it: three factions at war, guild play, world-boss raids and the 300-versus-300-versus-300 Albern Warzone added in September 2026, with one account usable on phone, PC and Epic. The catch reported in reviews is getting into the same server: American servers filled for days in July 2026.

5

How much time does RF Online Next take?

As much as an MMO asks: a July 2026 reviewer put the choice as a thousand hours or $50, another hit a wall at level 50 after two weeks, and drop rates for items and skills are measured in mass kills. Auto-path and auto-battle cover the travel; sieges and raids run on the server's schedule, so evenings belong to the faction.
