Homescapes is a match-three wrapped in a renovation story: clear a board, earn a star, spend it on a room — and now also solve pull-the-pin puzzles as a side mode. Lives refill on a timer, coin packs run $0.99 to $15.99, and Google Play shows no advertising badge. Pets, timed expeditions and seasonal events sit on top of thousands of levels.
Specs come from the official store listings and were last checked on 2026-09-07. Developers change pricing and requirements — check the store page before installing.
The board is buttons, bows and cubes with boosters stacked down one side, and each cleared level pays a star. Stars buy renovation steps — a carpet, a bookcase, a fish tank, a new armchair — usually offered as two or three options side by side, which is the only real choice in the game and the reason people keep going. Between rooms, Austin the butler carries a light story of phone calls and visiting relatives. None of it is demanding, and none of it pretends to be; the decoration exists to give the matching somewhere to land.
The first two store screens show a pin puzzle: pull the pins in the right order so the coins fall to the character and the hazard does not — a snowy cellar in one, a coin funnel above a waiting woman in the other. It sits inside the game as a side puzzle rather than a replacement for the boards. Around the rooms, the listing adds pets as companions and expeditions as timed events, and the current update runs two of them: Dreamland, which sends Chloe through a series of dream worlds, and a Treasure Hunt that follows a map with Scotty and Chloe. Competitions and events need a connection; ordinary levels do not.
A failed level costs a life, and the store screens show the counter running unlimited lives for 29 minutes and 52 seconds — the thing a booster or a purchase buys back. Coin packs are listed at $0.99, $1.99, $4.99 and $9.99, with a $15.99 pro pack, a $4.99 starter kit and a $6.99 apprentice pack between them. There is no advertising badge on Google Play; Apple rates the game 13+ with frequent contests and loot boxes among the contents, on a 314.2 MB install. The averages are strong: 4.7 from 13.4 million Play reviews, 4.6 from 2.17 million on Apple.

A polished, warm match-three with a renovation hook that works better than it should, plus pin puzzles that give the boards a change of pace. The economy is the usual one — lives on a timer, boosters offered at the moment you fail, packs to $15.99. Enjoyable free if you treat the life counter as a bedtime. Skip it if you want puzzles without a timer deciding when you stop.

Levels already loaded will play without a connection, but the game syncs progress, events and the story to an account, so extended offline play is unreliable. Purchases and events need the internet, and the game prompts to reconnect rather than continuing quietly.
Coins, from $0.99 to $9.99 a pack with a $15.99 pro pack, spent on lives and boosters. Bundles at $1.99, $4.99 and $6.99 mix coins with items. Apple also lists loot boxes, so some rewards arrive by chance rather than by direct purchase.
314.2 MB and iOS 12 or later on iPhone, which reaches back to hardware from around 2016. Playrix builds for cheap Android phones as well, since a game with half a billion installs cannot demand recent hardware from its audience.
Only teams and timed contests, where players contribute to a shared goal and compare scores. Nobody plays a level together. Apple's rating notes frequent contests, which is exactly that layer — scoreboards designed to keep a solitary puzzle game feeling populated.
A level takes two or three minutes, and the lives counter is what ends the sitting — run out and the wait is roughly half an hour unless you buy your way back. The design is built around several short visits a day rather than one long one.
